  1. I'm a diesel mechanic in Marines. I'm very familiar with this motor and it's bigger brother. My only fear right now is the injection pump and starter are set up for 25v. I'm sure I can make it run though. I'm going to keep an eye out for a 86 Diesel MJ and make a go at getting this swap done.
  2. There are strength improvements and slightly more power and torque. They will bolt right in place of a SBC. I'm in Commifornia now. Swapping from gas to diesel is a no go as far as I remember.
  3. Well, hmmmmmm, my new place came with a bunch of old cool stuff hidden on the property. I found a 327 with Glide and a old military generator powered by a HMMWV 6.2 diesel. Talk me out of buying an 86 diesel and slamming this motor in it.
  4. Cummins, no G.
  5. Be warned Nates sliders stick out in the front like Krustyballers do. Brandon has "fixed" the design to follow the body better.
  6. Absolutely correct. You can order them with the d rings or brush guard. One of my favorite light duty bumpers.
  7. I know my 86 has a different TB mount. The hole is way smaller than the one I got out of the JY from a 97 XJ.
  8. I'm happy with my Krustyballer bumper. He even made a license plate mount for me.
  9. His truck is very, very nice. I would never pay $69k for a truck though. I'll keep my $17k used CTD.
  10. If it only worked that way Chief! As mouthy as I am they would make us live in a tent in the training area!
  11. They have base housing there but I don't use it. I have 5 cars, and 30' travel trailer, 2 ATVs and a boat. I would have to pay for storage for the camper, boat and two of the cars. I rented the house in the pic for $950 and I have 5 acres of desert to screw around on.
  12. Home sweet home. They are safe in California at the new house. We'll be joining them in a few weeks.
  13. This reminds me of a 80s commercial for Dodge/AMC/Jeep
  14. Nothing but a thing. They look amazing though!
  15. I run the ATPs on both my MJ and my Cummins. I love them! The ATP is a Discount Tire Direct only tire. The AT3 can be found a lot easier. I went with the ATPs because they are slightly more aggressive. I have 30k on them on the Dodge and they look almost new. The MJ's tires have about 10k on them and they have not worn at all. They do hum ever so slightly. I knew they would by their tread pattern though.
  16. I have one on Onyx. It's been on there for at least 6 years. For me it is worth every penny.
  17. Start the corners and leave then loose. Very loose, like one or two threads started. Then do the center. Leave everything super loose until all the bolts are started.
  18. Don I read both of those links the first time this truck came up. I still don't think it is real. Sadly, I think "Jeepnut" is blinded by the SC Koolaid. Being he is the guy running the registry. It looks real, is it??? Is it a clone from a crashed or junked truck??? I saw many SCs in the SoCal bone yards in the mid 90s. Sadly, MJs and Jeeps were not my passion back then and they were nothing more than a cool Street truck to me.
  19. I ruined a brand new master cylinder by using the pump and hold method. You could have killed yours also.
  20. I say it's a fake. The guy has yet to prove why they were spelled wrong. It is supposed to be Street MJ #51. It has been here before and on NAXJA. BUYER BEWARE! Do your research before you buy this thing.
