Been there a time or four myself. It's a piece of reflective glass. It didn't do anything to me. -
Nused XJ and weird mirrors
shelbyluvv replied to shelbyluvv's topic in Member Projects: Other Cool Stuff
Next time I go to the yard I'll get a pic of it. The tails were gone. They were the first thing I looked for after I saw the door tag. It also had the euro spec side markers on the fender. It was a pretty cool little Jeep. -
Yesterday I sold my boat to fund a vehicle for my step daughter. In the process of doing a trade I found this little 2wd 96 XJ. Clean with only 150k on it. We struck a deal and I bought the little guy for $1700. Sold the POS boat for $1800 so it was a good day. Got it home and swapped on some nicer wheels and tires. On the drive home she started to run a little warm with the AC on and the driver's side mirror was floppy. I knew then I needed to do a junkyard run. The wife and I went to my local yard and picked up a 98 E Fan, door limiting strap, MJ tail lights and some 97+ mirrors. These ones had a slight difference in their appearance though... They came off a Canadian Jeep in the California desert. The data tag on the driver's door was in Arabic as well. I think they're pretty cool!

Then those springs need to be replaced because they 1) can't hold up to any load or towing 2) will cause horrible axle wrap -

You don't need to go SOA. You can get Hell Creek leaf packs and do Drop Brackets in the front. -

I wouldn't put a cRusty's part on my Jeep if it was given to me. Absolute junk. I pieced together my lift and got awesome parts and better ride quality. Look up the "Alexia lift" in the DIY section. -
Running rough after bad fuel

If you had rust in the filter you probably have it in the sock. Pull the pump and check the sock. -
Got mine today. I'm glad I did.

Thanks fellas. I am getting settled. Still looking for all of my tools and parts. They are in boxes somewhere...??? -
I went to my local junkyard today and found the correct switches for my AC system. I had to take one off a Dodge Ram and another off a Grand Cherokee. For some reason my "97" wiring is not the same as other 97s out there? I put the switches in and tried to put a can of 134 in and it wouldn't kick the compressor on. I jumped the compressor the battery and it clicked and spun. Then the sparks started flying out of the clutch. Back to the yard for a clutch. Of course my compressor is different than all the rest out there. I pulled a clutch and spacers off a Ram and headed home to put it on. Got the compressor on and fired up the truck. I have AC! After three years of sweating and hating my truck, I can now cruise in comfort!

I don't use FB groups for Tech advice. I use them for buying and selling crap. -

Today I dug out my favorite piece. I've been hoarding this for a few years. I have to give thanks to Adam for this as well. Today I installed my MJ specific Visor. I also put a tire a carrier in the bed. -
XJ front 44s do exist. They were for export only though.

Those are coming as well. Not sure about the rear bumper. I am thinking a chrome double tube. But, the front is black. Decisions... -

Yesterday I modified some LJ nerf bars to fit on the truck. Today I removed the shell and fitted my roll bar. I can't want to get this truck on the road. She is looking so sexy! -
Yes, Yes they are! So beautiful!

Today I decided to put on my LJ steps. I am going for a total 80s look on my truck. I have a chrome roll bar, chrome steps and a chrome push bar. It wasn't all that hard to do. They don't flex when you stand on them and they look pretty good.
