    what is this

like rob said, it's the so-called "Alaskan Postal Jeep", which are quite rare and use the "World Top" doors up front, note the squared off window frame compared to the regular rounded ones... http://www.kateanderic.com/postal/postalmain.html
  3. pulling up an old tread...but anyone have CAD drawings of an MJ structure? or how about an XJ structure? i have scans/pics of the frame dimensions, but trying to save some time and effort if someone else has it...

  6. a guy near my parents has one, although i haven't had opportunity to look at it more than driving down the street :(
  7. for a mighty mite or whatever they're called? i haven't read any responses yet edit: M422 or M422A1 http://www.vintagemilitarytrucks.com/m422%20mighty%20mite%20page.htm
  8. agreed...although i wish i could get it...i'm on MJ withdrawal now... :wall: :headpop:
  9. no but my sister in law and brother in law live just south of streator, but didn't have any significant damage. kind of crazy though seeing a street i'd just been on a couple of weeks ago when we visited them torn up by a storm.
  10. if i had the money, i'd really consider it... http:// http://www.greatlakes4x4.com/showthread.php?t=178652
  11. i agree... by the way, check with a gm dealer if that GTP has any recalls, my boss' GTP caught on fire a couple weeks ago due to problem with a recall in the fuel injector area.
  12. i know we'd like it if they would keep making the products, but they only have so much space, time, and personnel to produce items. they've grown a lot in the past few years but small companies can't spread themselves out too thin on products that don't sell. that's just how it is. now as for the jigs...i hope they get some good use out of them and pass them on or something.
  13. I have several nice knives including a few Kershaws, and the one that's in my pocket 99% of the time is the Kershaw Blackout like what you posted, except mine has a partially serrated blade
  14. i don't see a plate on that MJ...so it might be promising for you!
  15. so the 8th digit in your vin is a 6? if so, here:

  18. ok wasn't sure on the 8 bolt semi's, thanks
  19. yes because the wheel wells are located further back on the long beds so the rear mounts are different.
  20. if it is a GM 14 bolt, make sure to replace it with a full-float model, they also made semi-float 14 bolts. as far as i know, all full floats are 8 bolts and the semi floats are 6 bolt hubs. also, i haven't confirmed this in person but supposedly there is a difference in axle width from a 2wd to a 4wd axle. is this friend up here or down in GA? if he doesn't mind it being down for a little while and waiting for me to finish my current project, i'm always looking for side work. and if we can work out it getting to my area.
  21. nice pics... oohhh! Unimog!
  22. yea that's the v6 badge of death! ok maybe not that bad... maybe

  25. make sure you don't over torque the bolts when you put it back on. they're only rated in IN lbs not FT lbs.
