  1. i've only had a hangover once, and that wasn't the most i've had to drink in one night. food and water are your friends when drinking.
  2. if your antifreeze is getting electrically charged, it's caused by improper grounding...i've heard of it before but it's not all that common.
  3. did you really expect a vote to keep the car?
  4. "so damn busy"? i didn't think that was possible as a mechanic...you guys hiring? here's a few pics of my stuff. the only pics i have is from when i was getting it ready to take to work so i'd have a good record for insurance... and my home box, although i'm thinking about taking the bottom and using it as a roll car for common tools at work. too bad this box is mostly empty, gotta work on building the home set up.
  5. what? someone else from grand rapids on here? and good luck on the cooling system in it.
  6. http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/cto/1505847743.html it's only a few minutes from me but i haven't looked at it, don't have the money
  7. before and i used it to find my first comanche
  8. i'd seen them around before, but the first one i've had personal experience with was a 1990 4.0/auto/2wd/LWB that i found on here (http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2430). my wife had recently been in an accident and her car was wrecked, so i needed to find a second car cheap and fast, so i got the truck for $200, some gas/toll money, and dinner for a buddy with a diesel F250 and trailer. got it home, replaced the water pump due to a leak, installed the bed, fuel tank, and doors, and drove it for some 20k miles, converting it to a 4wd in the process. a lifter failed due to previous oil starvation, so i tore the engine down and found a bunch of wear inside, sold it and bought my current 88/4.0/auto/4wd/lwb with less than 90k miles on it at the time.
  9. we got 14" or so the other day...and various snow on other days, but now largely gone to a slight warm up into the mid 30's
  10. opps guess i don't have the lid anymore...at least one that isn't damaged
  11. i might be interested in the ic229h, the ic290h, the kenwood tr7950, and/or some of the antenna/cable set ups once you start selling. someone on eham mentioned $50 being about what that kenwood fetches. nothing like getting free stuff to kick of another expensive hobby :D the two radios i have were basically free...thrown in as part of a trade.
  12. michigan is a bit easier on the title/frame issues, but i also only have limited fab tools and i don't trust my welder to make a frame, it's only a 120v MIG that's pushing the limits of my garage wiring. i wonder how well i could drop a ZJ 318 drive line in it? i've got a spare one waiting to pick up...willys truck, 318 motor...just sounding more and more tempting.
  13. i don't have any pics cause i didn't have a camera with me, but i know... :needpics: willy's truck frame, axles, and more or less body with title, no soft spots on frame. body needs some serious attention due to rust, no interior or engine/trans/t-case. asking $500 for it sitting at a junk yard, one of the workers is selling it, but wasn't there today. the guy i asked about it thought the owner would listen to an offer of $100...

  15. do you know if the air box is the same as the 4.0? if so i think i have a usable lid in my garage. $25 shipped sound fair? after i make sure i still have it that is.
  16. Yes I do :D (Play tug-o-war with that truck) Here's a couple build ups on the CJ10A's, both by a guy I know. Yes, I said a couple since he's had 2 of them. http://www.greatlakes4x4.com/showthread.php?t=27185 http://www.greatlakes4x4.com/showthread.php?t=31298 He's also done some sweet CJ8's http://www.greatlakes4x4.com/showthread.php?t=58338 http://www.greatlakes4x4.com/showthread.php?t=897
  17. ham radio, not the meat...although it can be tasty. i'm going to be getting my license as soon as i can get some time to start taking the tests, and just want to see if anyone on here has their license? i already have a nice base station (ten-tech model 562 with model 962 external amp/speaker and shure mic) and a 2 meter unit for my truck (radioshack brand), just need to set up some antennas once i'm legal to operate.
  18. centramatic looks pretty sweet...
  19. found a job as a full-time tech at a local repair shop!

    Fort Hood

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this yet, but here's for a moment of silence for the 14 dead and 30 injured the other day. One of the dead was pregnant, so that's how I came up with 14 not 13 dead. o | | | | :USAflag: | | | --
  22. the crane looks like mine...except still clean.
  23. i just noticed the steering column isn't right for a late model xj, looks like one out of a later zj (circa 98). i'm still torn on the front end from late models vs. the original, but i know i like the interior in my 99 xj better than an older xj/mj i've had. the rear on that red one? noooo.
  24. :agree: forget you heard about twitter...
