Maintenance required light

Just remove the dash bezel and there are four screws that hold in the light covers and instrument panel, remove them and you have access from the rear. -
Maintenance required light
jeepdoggydogB replied to boosst's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
By your sig I see you have the 1991 which means the light is controlled by your ECU. If you are lucky enough to have access to a DRB II scanning tool you can turn it off. Many that do not have access to the DRB just remove the bulb unless of course you have your vehicle inspected for smog or safety as the techs will test the warning lights at start up. Ay least thats what they do out here in the San Francisco Bay Area. :fs1: -
Utilities in your town: Power, Telephone, CATV, etc.

We used to have rolling blackouts back in 2001 and like you I lamented of the great power service we had in the PI. If you move back you could be the first CC member to have a JeepneyManche! -
Don, I am color blind but my wife says maybe instead of gray and silver, black and silver might stand out better on your truck ? I can't imagine that Silver and Gray would have been the only color combo offered from the factory as according to my wife it would have worked best with a black or white truck.

That is certainly the right way to apply those stickers, when I get my truck painted in about 5 years in black Cherry that is exactly how I would do it. After the application of clear coat that should finish the job very nicely!

Thanks Jpnjim and Spencer, Spencer you can post them if you wish.

Factory fog lamp wiring?
jeepdoggydogB replied to Blue88Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Mine was a blue 15 amp in the PDC in the Engine Compartment, the label is on the top of the PDC cover. -
Salamat Pare! It isn't unattached but it has always looked mis-aligned since I bought it. You have given me a great reason to buy a hood like yours!

Thanks everyone  The hardest part was actually getting the early "Eliminator" stickers off of the bed, my thumb is still numb from trying to peel them off. I did not want to use diluted acetone or solvent as they have a tendency to cloud darker paints.

Just finished up my 1991-2 Eliminator sticker intall from Spencer. I also updated my blinkers and driving lights to match the SF Giants as opposed to the Oakland Raiders amid concerns from certain members that silver and black was not their cup of tea (I could go either way). My next major install will be the Iceberg winch plate and Aussie Winch.

I remember reading about these trucks in 1999 JP magazine, but have long lost the article. The link below seems to be accurate, built in the 70's based on a CJ7 with a CJ6 frame and fiberglass bed made by a Southern California company. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f8/gauch ... ld-709132/

I bought their canister, lines, expansion valve, and compressor last year and their parts and service were quite good. The only issue I had was that when I purchased them it looked like the compressor was a Sanden, but when it arrived it was a generic.

factory hidden winch photos
jeepdoggydogB replied to Pete M's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
 Excellent find, it looks like it has the original winch! If so rebuilding that is a must. -
I think mine was a Commancher during April 1. :clapping:

Yes, remember the V-8 Monza? My brother converted a 1976 Vega to a V-8 with the V-8 Monza donor. :ack:

Hidden Winch Design Proposal
jeepdoggydogB replied to 87Warrior's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
This was an option I so badly wanted to persue, but even if we could get someone to create plans, wasn't their issues around winches not being compatible with a hidden winch schema? Such frustrations took me to another solution, not a hidden winch, but at least it worked with most winches on the market. http://icelandoffroad.com/CherokeeXJ/XJ ... fault.aspx :dunno: -
I run Redline 10/30 and it has also reduced the valve noise considerably

Not using Craigslist to sell my latest vehicle reduced those kinds of calls or emails by 90 percent. I used the Autotrader advertise to you sell it when I sold my wife's Mercedes SL500. The last several months I have felt like almost ecveryone that responded to the add on CL was a scammer or tire kicker.

Jeep Cargo Light on Ebay
jeepdoggydogB replied to jeepdoggydogB's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
I was looking at a 95 Ford Ranger Cargo/brake light assembly that looks like it might fit our trucks for a fraction of $44. If I had the inclination to cut up my cab I would purchase one and give her a shot. -

any tips for shipping the contents of a house to Europe?
jeepdoggydogB replied to Pete M's topic in The Pub
When we moved from Subic Bay Philippines to Vallejo Ca in 1980 the bill was about $10,000 for everything. It took three months mostly becuase of the customs. I can't imagine the price coming down over the last 31 years.
