Bright sealed beam headlights?
jeepdoggydogB replied to Eagle's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If you are looking for quality at $89 IPF makes a heavy duty H4 wiring harness, it is in my garage waiting for my current harness to die, but the old Bigoffroad harness (also defunct) has held up well for almost 5 years. -
Be very careful with that infection. My Sister had such an infection in her gums that no anti-biotic would cure. After having half of her upper teeth removed and losing part of her cheek bone her Doctors decided to put her in Oxygen chamber treatment. I hope you get well soon.

Recommendations on radiators?!

I Think DPG still has all metal radiators for Renix MJ's. http://dpgoffroad.com/productcategories/radiators/  -
Bright sealed beam headlights?
jeepdoggydogB replied to Eagle's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have the IPF lenses and finally found the perfect H4 bulb in the Hella. I previously had the IPF lenses with the IPF Fatboy bulbs and got flashed by on coming motorists more than I care to remember no matter how well adjusted I had the lamps. The Hella's seem to be just as intense but have a more direct low beam that does not scatter and overwhelm oncoming drivers. I use the Biggoffroad adapter on the factory harness with no issues. -
Those look better than the ones going for $132. If your spirits are as good you should consider making a Comancheclub label spirit

Thanks! That's exactly what I'm doing, saw someone else on a different jeep forum make one, I figured I would make one too and give it as a gift to impress a woman. :clapping: Thanks. Yes, yes they are. I just wish I knew someone with horses who had a bunch of old shoes laying around for free. Ya they are pretty pricey, I used $32 worth of horse shoes to make mine this one. Gonna go get some rustoleum hammered to finish it off. Yours looks just as good, could make some money with that kind of profit margin.

That's nice work! Those things cost over $100 retail! http://www.kickinhorseshoecreations.com ... Decor.html

1992 Jeep Comanche
jeepdoggydogB replied to Jeepcomanche87's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
Very nice, The only other 92 with that kind of striping I have ever seen was the one Gogetemturbo (the one that caught on fire) bought near Sacramento California. -
Complete Brake Overhaul

Great write-up! And I agree with Don many of us will be looking at your Wilwood solution for proportion valve replacement. I just saw an old proportion valve component not to long ago go for over $100 on ebay. -
guess what I found... (warning: thunderchief photos inside)

Back Slider Adataption
jeepdoggydogB replied to man-coche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
:agree: Had mine installed in 03 and still working fine w. no issues. But it's kind of useless now with the camper shell installed. :( Don, Isn't yours the electric one? What I would give to get one of those! -
Back Slider Adataption
jeepdoggydogB replied to man-coche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
how are these? does anybody here have one? I have one on my Jeep and it works well for me, I have had it in for almost 5 years with no issues. I would have it professionally installed as when I researched doing this myself I got lots of advice saying that they were prone to leak for DIY folks. -
I also really like my HellCreek MT 3 inch rear springs; I used the Rubicon Express 3.5 springs out front for a fairly level truck. Too bad RE is gone now, I used the JKS adjustable trackbar.

Great article in JP magazine about that a few years ago. http://www.jpmagazine.com/techarticles/ ... index.html

New Stereo Install
jeepdoggydogB replied to jeepdoggydogB's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
LOL! My wife got into trouble with her friends because one of the songs we share in our Itunes account was Jimmy Buffett's "Why don't we get drunk and @#$%". Her lady freinds did not appreciate that much! :jump: -
Hello Fellow addicts! My two year old Pioneer 7200 HD started popping and crackling (only while playing USB and DVD music) I know some will say I had a short, but the radio played fine. After weeks of annoying pops and cracks I purchased the Kenwood KDC X995 with thePro.fit UL-242-4BG mount for an Iphone or Ipod touch. I have used Pioneer products for the last ten years so needless to say I was very disappointed that the Pioneer unit died so quickly. I have to say that the Kenwood install was flawless, my Iphone pairs up easily for BT hands free calling on the Iphone. The sound is first class whether it be from a DVD, Iphone or USB drive. Here are some pics. I placed the universal cradle in an area where I can still see the instruments, and it is easily removed with the panel cover. I installed the MIC in the center console right above the beverage holder and the sound is very good despite the noise from the cab. I purchased from Crutchfield (I know I paid too much), but I must say calling their technical support and talking with good folks over in Virginia has far surpassed my recent experience with offshore technical support. Although I am not a fan of Diana Ross that is the song that popped up as I share an Itunes account with my better half.

New Steering Wheel Install
jeepdoggydogB replied to jeepdoggydogB's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I don't know about "sage" advice Joe but I have fought this battle a few times. First, manually ground the contact wire tip inside the spring with a screwdriver to make sure your horn actually works. Then make sure the round concave spring plate that is sandwiched between the insulators is shiny and clean where the wire contact touches. This plate is what completes the ground circuit to the ground wire inside the spring and plastic holder. Also the concave side on the plate must face outward toward the driver. Thanks Don, I can actually insert a screw driver to make the horn honk by touching the top of the horn trigger, I suspect grounding the wire to the spring might be the issue. The plate that is sandwiched cannot make ground like a screw driver can. I'll give it a try! -
Hello fellow Comanche addicts, I just installed a like new steering wheel from an older jeep, and the installation was easy. I no longer get tar goo all over my clothers and hands, but the horn no longer makes proper contact to the horn trigger pin and spring. Anyone have any sage advice adjusting them? Thanks, Dog

Add tax and license and out here you would be nearly at the $20,000 mark for a $400 a month payment
