Sorry fellow Comanche addicts, but if I owned a Jeep Dealership I would have done the same for unsold Comanches in the day...just sayin' ;)

Rear Sliding Window
jeepdoggydogB replied to dave92cherokee's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Like Clint Eastwood said "A man's got to know his limitations" I paid a professional to install mine, and looking at some of these pics apparently it is, some of the best $$ I spent on the MJ. -

OMG! Looks tasty Mike! Has your wife ever cooked them with scrambled eggs mixed in? Add that and some Pace Picante and you got quite a breakfast!

Congrats Don! Rumor has it that are looking at opening back up the SRF portion of Subic, and a landing field. She might get to serve out that way as tensions mount between China and the ROP. She might serve in the areas there like you did.

Comanche Of The Month - May 2013

Great looking truck! -
Very nice! You are a very lucky man

I agree with the German sounding name! Had a friend with a Dachshund name that sounded like "Otto" but spelled "Auto".

Wow! My wife cooks and I wash dishes and I did an admittedly terrible job. Her Mother bought us a Maytag dishwasher more than ten years ago, and even with me pre-washing the crystal still looked terrible. We wound up buying a Kitchenaid brand and she loves it. Washing dishes for me is a small price to pay for the $$ I spend on my Comanche. :dunno:

Comanche Of The Month - April 2013

Classic truck well deserving of COTM! -
In my area it is not called Dregs list for nothing. I am so sick of lowballers, BS'ers, and tire kickers that the only vehicle I would sell on CL is one with a rod knock ready to blow up at any moment. I have had idiots low ball for a vehicle than demand all the paperwork of upgrades and services. :fs1:

My brother has FCP, that's the whole reason he overpaid for a laptop. I fondly remember him freaking out over the 57 gigabyte installation. That is also my reason for going Apple in this case!

Editing pictures with Aperture is a blast! My next project is Final Cut Pro!

On my truck admittedly an HO had the hose from the air filter to valve cover ruptured causing smell, oil blow by, and high idle. This likely wouldn't apply to your Renix but I also had a cracked header in 5 places with the exhaust manifold stud broken off nearest the firewall. Now, with new exhaust manifold and hoses there is no more exhaust smell in the cab.

Wow! Does an MJ come with that axle?
-
Wow thanks for the advice! Carolina clutch it is. I got the OEM part numbers from wholesale, some of their parts have great prices, but $200 for a pressure plate, then $292 for the release bearing assembly was a bit rich for me.

Hello Fellow MJ'ers! Every 6 or 7 years my jeep goes a little crazy and needs some attention, and in my case the clutch and/or slave is malfunctioning. Anyone with any experience with the LuK heavy duty clutch replacement kit? I can get it for about $250, as opposed to purchasing the OEM for about $600. Any opinions? TIA, Dog

To Those Of You Driving Newer Vehicles, How Do You Manage Driving An Mj?
jeepdoggydogB replied to JeepcoMJ's topic in The Pub
My other car is my wife's 2008 $52,000 Cadillac CTS with the rare luxury and performance options of that period (now you have to buy the CTS premium for $58,000). In all honesty my Iphone connected to its Kenwood unit will out do her guidance and listening capabilities The heated and cooled seats are great, and with its 3.6L DI and LS rear axle will leave my truck in the rear view mirror, but I still look forward to driving my little truck to work every day, taking it to the country, fishing, hiking and camping. All this and I had the worst weekend of my life with this truck attempting to change out the broken header with an APN header and a 99+ intake. I had a broken eye stud closest to the cab almost impossible to reach, but with the help of some really really good union welders that live nearby, they welded a bolt to the broken stud and we got it out. The APN header required too much grinding to accommodate my 99 + manifold so I was only able to manage to get the new header on before I had to be at work today. My wife asked me yesterday why I wouldn't just buy a newer truck, and I told her the only truck I would consider would be in the 3/4 ton range and with all the creature comforts of her Cadillac would be in the $50,000 range. (I love the Dodge Power Wagon, or the Ford Raptor). Unless God came down from heaven and blew my truck up I might consider the much more cost effective NIssan Frontier. Now JeepCoMJ, you have pissed and crapped more MJ blood than I could ever hope to do, and you are one of a select few here that lives and breathes MJ's, but please understand many of us love these little trucks despite the noise from the windows, despite the crappy transmissions of some, the noisy lifters, the bumpy ride, the poor electrical system, and in some cases the lack of power, and crappy fuel economy. I'll just continue to call my little truck a labor of love. I appreciate all your contributions to the MJ knowledge collective, and hope one day the long and winding road of vehicle affairs brings you back to the world of the MJ in a favorable light. -
