I'm also not a fan of rock bouncing, however, I do watch occasionally. There really is nothing Comanche about Matt's Comanche, one thing is clear though, there is no substitute for V8 power. I keep reading and hearing about how perfect Jeep's 4.0 is for off-roading. Don't believe everything you hear or read.

When it comes to bodywork.........nothing good comes from a rattle can. And.......depends on what primer as to whether or not is attracts/absorbs moisture. Mine has sat out for 1.5 years in primer in the weather...........not a hint of rust anywhere. Also, to disagree with what's posted above.........apply nothing over rust, dirt, scale, lose material, clean first. You are better off doing nothing until you are prepared to do something and when you do something.........do it right.

As a side note- I'm casually looking for my 350 Chevy block, virgin bore, 4 bolt. I found two, one is 3 hours away and one is 2 hours away, both want $350 for a bare block. Round trip and cash.....no weekends with either........can't take a day off. I'm patient. Point is- SBCs were literally dimes-a-dozen 20 years ago.........not today.

BTW......... If you think this is an investment, it's not. If you want something no one else has and you want to take care of it and appreciate it for several years........you'll enjoy it. Will you get your money back? Yeah, most of it. Will you make money? No, probably not. But, you get to cruise the beach in style for a while.

IMHO it's worth what he's asking. Assuming it is real. Last one I saw I ebay that was in similar condition sold for $6900 but has something like 67K miles on it........that was about 5 years ago. There are only so many rare birds like this. If you want it and can afford it...........it's worth it.

I'm impressed.

This isn't about the 4.0 but I wonder just how much theory applies.
