  1. moot point...........however......... Yes they do and my Frontier has an OD lock out button on the shifter for pulling a trailer.
  2. Has anyone found non OEM switches that fit? that are not $30?
  3. I'm going to get that same '86 sender/pickup for my '88, external pump.
  4. Maybe you could talk to this guy. https://orlando.craigslist.org/pts/d/ax-5-ax-15-nv3550-rebuild/6372829652.html
  5. 2871 divided by 12v equals 239.25 amps. There is no way that light is drawing 200+ amps.
  6. Now that the center is out, see if you can get a brake spoon or a similar small pry bar under the rim and pop it out. It would still be a lot less work to drop the trans than pull the head, and you can get to the other plug.
  7. Where's the OP?
  8. I'll just give you my take on it- The last thing I want is what everyone else has. You'll have more options going metric. 5x4.5 are becoming obsolete, yes, you'll always find soft 8s but for high-end wheels, getting harder to find, get what you want while you can. For example, Fuel makes one 18x10 in 5x4.5, that's it, Throttle. Manufacture actual size varies even within the same size, taller or more narrow..........etc...... Nitto makes the widest tread width within a given size. I've got 285/60/18 on 9" wheels, I'm going 325/60/18 on a 10" wheel after the new year. The 325 Nitto has an actual tread width of 12.2", that maybe wider than most 12.50 tires. And I will be at 34" tire height, which is exactly what I want. Just study brands and actual sizes, find a wheel you like, enjoy.
  9. You are hung up on the axle shaft, pull the unit bearing and the shaft out first. Then, the knuckle will fall off.
  10. I've been watching this and I've stayed out of it. I'm aware of the early electronically controlled carb/dist, I have no idea what he is working with, what parts, what years, what works, what doesn't........that said, it was junk in 1985 and it's junk now. He/you need to simply your mess. He's been dealing with this for two months now, something that should have been rectified in an afternoon.
  11. THIS is your problem. Get a simple vac advance dist.
  12. Did some sandblasting today, all the little bits that I've been putting off. Got the seat brackets blasted and painted, the one below was so bad you could actually see light through the rust holes. It may not be pretty but it should hold up fine now, it'll be buried in the carpet anyway. No pic but I got the tailgate handle done too. I also got the cab, front fenders, and header panel sanded and reprimed, now it's ready to be wet sanded.
  13. AMCKID, You now have an old-school Weber. You need- One vac line from the carb base to the dist. One throttle link. One wire to choke. One fuel line. That is it. Vac lines- One line from intake to PB booster. One line from intake to blend door. As for both of you- In FL you have no emissions. From what I can find, you only have emissions in Phoenix and Tuscon, if you don't live there...........all the mess needs to go. If either of you are have troubles with engine performance.............it's the cluster posted above.
  14. That's fuel line. Typically, with a carb you'll have a mechanical fuel pump on the engine. Somewhere between the carb and pump you'll install a fuel filter. Weber is insuring that you don't run a line from the carb to pump without the filter, hence, two hoses.
  15. You're 2.5 years late.
  16. No, I don't have a problem. I'm about to place my deposit on the custom gauge cluster, the only gauge that does not come with a sender is the fuel gauge. I need to tell them what gauge to use. I'm going with a rail mounted fuel pump for the injected V8, the '86 arrangement is perfect for what I'm going. I just needed to confirm the ohm range, if I'm not mistaken, the 0-90 is GM and Jeeps of the Renix era used GM senders.
  17. Yeah, that is your air box, the foam had me confused. IDK, guess you just cut it off.
  18. Can someone confirm that the '86 sender is 0-90 ohms? Does anyone have a pic or part number for the pick up screen? https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-86-Jeep-Comanche-Fuel-Tank-sending-unit-assy-23-5-gallon-tank-52003652/232057535509?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649
  19. Looks like a fresh air blend door to me. Why did you not take a pic of the entire thing? It come up through the cowl, correct?
  20. Wow, that's a hell of a deal. Those cams are NLA.
  21. That truck has been for sale for several years, was on CL. IIRC, he was asking $6500
  22. First time I've seen a MJ on a rotisserie. I'm impressed!
  23. I've seen nothing like what I want available.
  24. I suspect the Willys trans is geared low, you'll likely be twisting 32-3400rpm at 65mph. 1st is likely a granny. The Dana 18 is a passenger side drop. I have no idea where the shifters will come through the floor. You still have to contend with engine mounts, trans mount, xmember, cooling, exhaust, new drive shafts, bell, clutch, adapter for clutch slave..........etc......... I guess the trans would be perfect for rock crawling........however, your carbed engine won't, you'll need to go injected. It's an involved swap.
