  1. If I got to work that hard to get a part, the part was never meant for me to begin with.
  2. I watched all three vids last night. You won't find a more thorough rebuild anywhere......great vid.
  3. He has a 4spd not a 5spd.
  4. Right now there is a 86 XJ with the 2.5 5sp in the Charlotte Pull a Part. Don't run there.........the rear axle is gone by now. You'll have to search in every crack and cranny to find what you want and when you find it you'll have to run to get it. When I set out to find something I will search the net for hours per day and I've ran to other states many many times to get what I want........just work at it. It may take months. Or, you can pick up a cheap 8.25 for $100 and build it over time, when you can, when you can afford it. You are new to this, be patient.
  5. I just looked around, didn't find anything. Keep an eye on Charlotte CL. Lots of XJs in and around your area.
  6. Where are you at?
  7. It used to be. It took me months to find mine. I'd start looking now and be prepared to travel when one becomes available.
  8. I have one, LSD too.
  9. All I want is the clear plastic lens.............I do not want the cluster itself.
  10. Where did you get your seals?
  11. Are the mounting points different ?
  12. People will do anything.
  13. I'm casually looking for a cluster window with NO trip meter hole. Must be in perfect to near perfect condition. Thank you.
  14. How did you manage more for less?
  15. Very nice. I'm impressed at how well your interior cleaned up.
  16. Autozone has the correct shafts for $67 each side. I also vote for improved steering and CV shafts.
  17. OK, it's your truck, you don't need anyone's permission to do what you want. I will say though........there seems to be a fascination with brake valving here.............I don't get that. 99% of the trucks on the road have no HSV. I have no HSV nor an APV, no valving. If you consider stock braking 'good', mine are good. Empty, pulling a trailer down the mountain side, hauling heavy materials, a DD of 5 years as a work truck.......never a problem with braking bias. If your goal is improved rear braking, go with discs. My comments in the previous post stand.
  18. Came across this today.
  19. Every kit, every custom hot rod I've seen with an adjustable prop valve is as shown in the pic, not on the dash, not underneath in the frame rail (shield or no shield). With fresh front and rear brakes, drums adjusted, bias is set at the valve, once you are happy with it, that's it. It's not a height-sensing valve, it's not a replacement for one, it's not meant to be used as one. I'll also mention, if you are retaining drums, when drum braking wanes, it's time to inspect and adjust or replace, if you are constantly increasing pressure, changing pressure, how will you know when it's time for service before failure?
  20. I don't think it's going to work the way you think it will. That valve is not a spigot you turn on and off 6 times per day. Have you gone to rear disks yet?
  21. There is only one brand ACC carpet through stock interiors I've done both mass backing and no mass backing I'll order again and it will be with no mass backing it fits a lot better
  22. Don't get the mass backing.
  23. OP, at this point you have two choices. If it were me, I'd call Hell's Creek and DEMAND a return UPS label, I'd send those back. GS MW springs will put you right back to the height you are at now with the wheel centered. I'd order those and wait. My wheel was just north of center, I drilled new holes between center and the square hole, that moved my axle back about 3/4", my wheel is perfectly centered. Some will say that when compressed that moves the wheel back too far, that has not been my experience. I'm anal about this type of thing. Or you can drill holes and live with what you got. It irks me to no end that retailers sell this crap and then just expect you to live with it.......really pisses me off. They need to be made aware of their reputation. Yours is not the first, I've seem many many pics of similar off-center wheels........they obviously expect you to accept this.
