Need a pipe adapter
relyt120 replied to Strokermjcomanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The sensor this thread focuses on is only for the temp gauge, IIRC -
I'm just throwing this out there but maybe a little heat gun action to the areas that are not fitting right? Mine where used and only had a bit of resistance to closing at first, a simple slam for the first couple weeks solved that.

Also if the issue is they won't fold forward there is a guide in the diy section about replacing the zip tie that holds the cable inside the seat. Helped me with that issue.
-
Where are you? You should fill in your location info on your profile. What is wrong with your seats? Are the covers just stained or ripped? If so it would be much easier/cheaper to have someone sell you a nice set of covers for your style seat that you can just replace. The covers would be much cheaper and easier to ship than any seats would be. If you can post up some pics of your seats, it may be easier for us to suggest fixes than u having to find new or used ones on your island.

Yeah, whoever you spoke to is misinformed. Technically any year 85-01 Cherokee bumper will bolt up to your Comanche but only 85-96 is an exact match.

Gauges swap with column shift - problem fixed
relyt120 replied to 91Pioneer's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I think u might have gotten a 96 gauge cluster which I believe its different, perhaps in this way. Try to find an older one and pull it apart before you buy it to make sure -
You can move your bench seat brackets over to XJ buckets pretty easily instead of buying new brackets.

Stalled and will not fire back up

It might be advisable to check the fuel pump ballast resistor on the driver side of the engine bay near the fender. To eliminate it as a possible source of your issue simply unhook the two wires and connect them together. I only mention this because you said the sound from the fuel pump sounds different and that resistor was added to lower the sound. The buzz you are hearing may simply be the buzzer near the fuse panel under the dash, does it sound like its coming from near your feet? If you have access to a fuel pressure gauge you can check the pressure at the rail via the schrader valve -

HITCH PLATES!
relyt120 replied to krustyballer16's topic in Vendors- members making products for MJs
And ya, you could do that as long as the tube is 2.5"... This would be beneficial, especially if the parts hitch has the rating stickers still on it. I think some places, like uhaul, check your hitch to make sure it is proper for whatever you are towing. A 100% homemade hitch would not have a rating on it for them to check. -

relyt120 replied to krustyballer16's topic in Vendors- members making products for MJs
I am interested in a set. These work for LWB and SWB correct? Can you go into a little more detail on what has to be added/done to have a complete hitch? -
I like the 97+ mirrors. bigger fold easily power if you wire it up bolt on looks good, IMO

1990 pioneer 4.0 rebuild
relyt120 replied to Sir Jacob the 2nd's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
How did you realize it was a JY swap? -
I went ahead and got the tires replaced. They told me I need new ball joints so I had them quote me that and replacing the control arm bushings... I about fell over when this man tells me its +-$1200! hahahahahahahaaha :rotf: :laughin: :rotf: :laughin: Told him there was a 0% chance of me paying that. Ordered the ball joints online for $45/pair and ill rent the tool from one of the parts stores. Going to try and get that done this weekend and see if that slight shimmy that remains goes away. When all is said and done my steering system will be basically brand new
