issues with my power window/locks swap
relyt120 replied to Kickinmule's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I though of doing that too. I mocked up everything on the workbench before wiring it in, and the regulator motors only pulled 2A-3A each, so I didn't use relays, just fused the power in with a 20A fuse. The factory setup doesn't use relays either. Of course, the factory didn't use relays for the headlamps either. Anyhow, I figured it's easy enough to add relays for the motors later if needed. So far I haven't had to. :yeah that: I had mine on a set of polarity reversing switches for a while and swapped over to ground switched relays to add a remote trigger to the locks. -
I am in contact with the current owner of the truck. He is willing to take $500 with the wheels that were on it when he bought it. Apparently only 1st and 2nd gear work. If i can find somewhere to put it I may try to grab it. :dunno:

Welcome! :waving: Unfortunately I don't think any other rear DS is compatible unless you just measure the length and go trolling the JY with a tape measure. You will probably have to get one made or get one from another MJ and if it is a 2wd model have it shortened to the correct length. Thread about drive shaft lengths: http://comancheclub.com/topic/18925-looking-for-driveshaft-lengths-of-stock-trucks/ I think most people here would recommend replacing the shift linkage with an aftermarket kit or I believe there is a good write up on a custom set up on here somewhere, someone else will chime in with more details I'm sure. EDIT: found the link http://www.boostwerksengineering.com/231-HD-Shift-Linkage-Auto-Trans-_p_25.html That one is for the 231, you'll have to check yours to make sure its right. Also! :needpics: Click the above img/smiley for a thread about how to upload pics. Long story short you need the IMG tag from a photo hosting site like Photobucket. -

89 MJ On Ebay Not a Valid Eliminator?
relyt120 replied to HOrnbrod's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
Hey what is in a name anyway? The think has buckets, elim wheels, 2wd, 4.0l, and the console has the column shifter block off. Eliminator enough for me! -
I really like them because they fold up when not in use and are very compact.
-
There was a link in the thread but I got it off ebay. They are called boat cupholders or something
-
Not a big football fan but it was quite enjoyable.

If you are talking about the cupholder it looks similar to the ones I used

I cleaned the throttle body and I did the tips cruiser suggested and adjusted the TPS. I believe the TPS was the issue. my expected output was .83 and my actual output was .56. I adjusted it and got a super high idle so I adjusted it down and incrementally took it back up until the high idle stopped. It seems to have fixed my issue but it was not happening much earlier today so I will report back later in the week as i get to drive it some more. Thanks again guys.

mine had this issue. make sure your rear bulbs are correct. some of them are dual filament and some are single.
