  1. My man, so glad you are 'ok' after such a frightening experience. Wishing you well as you recover.
  2. https://nashville.craigslist.org/cto/d/1988-jeep-comanche/6664517634.html Chatted with the seller by txt and left him with a standing offer of $600 if it ever comes down to death at a Junk yard.
  3. That's awesome. First MJ I ever took notice of!

  5. The parasitic draw causing my battery to continually drain is still an issue. It made my battery go bad eventually, but I was able to get a free replacement from Advance auto. I took some days off to coincide with Memorial Day, so I am going to take some time to figure out which circuit is the issue. I expect its either the interior lights or the headlights, time will tell. Also the truck needs a good wash and vacuum! Pics to follow.
  6. Lookin good!
  7. Hey everyone, I recently acquired a nice little cache of R12 and was wondering what the going rate was for them. Thinking of selling a few off to finance an upgrade on my truck  Never had any to sell before so just wondering how much to post them up for. Thanks!
  8. Speedo cables and Gauge clusters
  9. I mounted the toolbox in the bed using this kit. That kit is awesome! Wish I had known about that, would have definitely got a couple sets. You are really working out a lot of the bugs in that truck, glad you took it off my hands!
  10. I've seen a 95 or 96 with a column shifter before, never a 97+ though
  11. didn't even realize the brake lights had an issue. Glad you can give it the time and effort it deserves!
  12. Looking good with the bedliner in. Got to ride in the '91 when he came to pick up the '89 and the pictures really don't do it justice!
  13. Bad news for this project, or potentially good depending on the outcome. I have been forced to purchase a new DD so there is a need to get rid of one of my 4 vehicles, this one has drawn the short straw. I am not worried about getting a lot of money out of this, or even what I have put into it. Really I would just like to get my initial $600 out of it and see it go to a good home. I'm going to sell it as is with: Complete Grey interior(partially installed to reveal floors) Currently installed MJ buckets Original bench seat Original Vinyl flooring (removed to reveal floors) Maroon interior with dash (only bad part is PO cut B pillar parts to fit speakers) Set of Eliminator 10 holes(2 of which are installed) Set of non-rivet ring 10 holes Spare Tailgate Bed Tool box Drop in bedliner (currently Installed) Non-OE 3 piece Roll bar, was installed on an MJ by PO, though never on this one. Includes new battery and cables installed Fuel rail has been cleaned Volvo upgrade injectors installed with all fresh o-rings Grounds upgraded Comes with Patch panel for driver side floor Here are the things it needs: Windshield replacement (priced $125 locally) Floor replaced (Patch panel included) Interior reinstalled(have either grey or maroon to choose from) Needs paint job for all panels to match (I was planning to pull red doors and hood from JY then either just rattle can the cab or get it painted to "match") Needs remaining 2 Eliminator 10 hole rims installed (new tires wouldn't hurt either) The truck runs and drives, starts every time. It has the 4.0l l6 with 5 speed manual transmission, 2wd. After listing all the stuff I am willing to include with this truck I don't even want to think about all the money I've spent gathering these parts etc but I just don't have the time and in some cases the skills to get this to where it deserves to be. I am hoping someone on here can take the baton and get this thing respectable again. Let me know if any interest. I will be posting in 'For sale' once I get it cleaned up and take some current pictures.
  14. All right fellas. I had finally got the dash back in and then the headlights would not work... Pulled it back out and swapped out the headlight switch, to no benefit. I have the supplemental relay harness so for a while I just ran a jumper to the relays with a switch so I could continue to drive to work. Then the battery continued to get drained for some unknown reason. Then it started to get hot and the AC has needed coolant for a while, additionally with all the in and out of the dash I could not operate my power windows due to having removed the relay bank and switches that control them and not having put them back in. So I decided to buy a car from my aunt to daily drive. I have done everything within my abilities to take care of the power drain, everything I ever added electrically has been removed, battery replaced, alternator works, dug as deep into the harness as I dare looking for shorts. At this point I think it needs a complete rewire, at the very least in the cab. With that being the case and the fact that I have something else to drive to work I think I will want to do a 97+ conversion in the future, I already have the front bumper and fenders etc. So until then this old girl will be hooked to a charger/maintainer and pulling dump duty while I look for a suitable donor XJ. I think I will want to get a 4wd XJ and do the whole kit and caboodle; 4wd, motor swap, dash, etc. ALSO, due to the addition of the car I now have 4 vehicles, and I live with family members who also have cars, and the garage is not used for vehicle storage so its looking like a car lot. Therefore, I will have to find a new home for my other truck Bumblebee. I won't be looking to make anything on it, maybe just get back my initial investment, $600. So if anyone is interested let me know!
  15. Looking really good! I might have some seat belts with the plastic somewhere :hmm:
  16. Been a while since I updated this. Ended up replacing the ball joints on the passenger side. Shop had told me they were bad and that aligning with warn ball joints would be a waste of money. I was aiming to do both sides but it was a beast of a job to just do the passenger side. Rotated the horribly unevenly warn tires to the back and everything has been gravy with the death wobble sense. Still been having issues with the battery dying. I have decided there is something drawing power without my consent. I assume the issue is with a wire I let the smoke out of some time ago. Also been having some other issues: Truck wouldn't start by turning the key, Blower motor would not run according to the selected speed, B pillar lights not working with door open, but sometimes when the doors are closed. So I ripped the dash out and started to investigate Found the melted wire and traced it as far back into the harness as I could and cut it out. Found that my starter switch had come partially unplugged. Found my Blower motor speed selector was scorched and the connector partially melted. I also found a couple of cut wires. So I replaced the blower switch, reconnected the starter switch, repaired the cut wires, and taped the harness back up. I want to put a relay on the blower switch to prevent further issues with it but am still deciding how to proceed with it. The new blower switch works great, truck starts with key now, we will have to wait and see how the battery does. Pics:
  17. I'll have to find a diagram in my manuals. Guess it won't be as easy as wiring in one quick and neat relay. Also upon checking the scorching and melted connector are around the white with blk tracer wire on my 89.
  18. Any further details on how to re-wire this? My switch has been scorched and my connector has been melted. When I replace them I will want to do this so it doesn't happen again. Edit: I guess my question is what to do with the brown wire and where to wire in the relay. From the diagram it looks like: 30- Const 12v 86- Switched 12v 87- To blower motor(brown wire?) 85- Ground I'm not experienced with these diagrams but this is what I could glean. Does it look right?
  19.
  20. That wheel/tire combo looks much better than the old one!
  21. Awesome truck! I like that you put the stripes back on. Do you plan to put on fender flares or do you prefer it without any? I usually don't like the look with no flares but yours pulls it off really nicely!
  22. I've got one in the project truck. You are welcome to it. I have a factory radio I can swap it out for.
