  1. Those do look nice. What do you do install ring terminals on the battery cables and attach them to the bolt? in that case you could use the connectors I mentioned with these.
  2. Check out these awesome battery connectors! Anyone ever use them before? http://www.remybattery.com/Fusion-Solder-Connectors-C1459.aspx
  3. Awesome. Here is the link for posterity. http://www.cherokeeforum.com/g/picture/1725291 Will a new switch include a connector or do i need to grab one from the JY? Also I just need to drop the column down to access this guy right?
  4. is this the one cruiser? http://www.cherokeeforum.com/g/picture/1725230 ill check it out this weekend thanks for both your replies
  5. Hey guys, been living with/battling this issue for a few weeks so I thought maybe you all had some ideas. So the issue is with my 1989 auto on column Pioneer with the 4.0l 2wd. (sig for link) Whenever I start the truck it starts fine but the accessory circuit does not come on ie no wipers, radio, ac, turn signals. Additionally, occasionally when I turn the truck off the accessory circuit comes on and stays on even with the key removed. At first I thought it was the ignition key cylinder because ever since i have had the truck I could remove the key with the truck running, so I went ahead and swapped that out first thing. I tested it before reassembling the column and reattaching the steering wheel and all seemed well until I got it all back together and the problem persisted. I am thinking that maybe it is the ignition switch but since the truck starts with no problems I am unsure and don't want to make things worse by going down the wrong rabbit hole. I am currently working around the issue by supplying the accessory circuit with power straight from the battery so I can still drive the truck, which is my daily driver. It is working well and I try not to draw too much current so I don't fry the whole thing. Luckily the main things are the tail lights and the wipers so my work around is working pretty well so far, just want to get it back to normal. What do you guys think? :dunno: Your advice is much appreciated.
  6. ^ nice ...when people at work want to buy your truck and you be like "nawl I'm gud"
  7. sounds cool, really want to see that quad
  8. I'm in TN as well and I'm planning to finally register my truck on Friday and was debating this same thing. It's an '89 which puts at 25 years old but, unless I'm misremembering, I believe I saw the build date on the door sticker as late 1988. Do you reckon they'd let that pass as being 'more than 25 years old? Also, are you saying I don't have to pass emissions if I register it as antique? mine is an 89 so you should be fine. yes no emissions.
  9. have em on ny project truck. Couldn't pass emissions and I don't drive it often and It never has to be renewed here in TN. No brainer. Picked up a 88 plate off eBay, here u have to use the year before the model year of you use a custom plate.
  10. Lol Relyt still has first dibs on the bull bar by the way. haha Nice

    Seat

so you have a seat to bolt those brackets too and only need the passenger side rear bracket? if so i definitely have what you need. ill pm u my email if u want to send those pictures over
  13. keep in mind that changing 2wd rotors also means having to remove and replace/reinstall the wheel bearings which will require packing then with grease etc and will not give you greater stopping over stock and will have little effect unless your current rotors are completely trashed. if you want better than stock stopping then the booster upgrade is the way to go and IMHO is easier than going through the rotor changing/ bearing changing especially since it will actually make it better than just back to stock. If you grab a 95-96 booster/MC combo all you have to do is grind a flat end for the brake switch and install. hardest part is getting to the damn bolts up under the dash. Also, though I'm sure you know this, make sure to top off your brake fluid and bleed the brakes before putting money out for anything else. Where are you located? I have a spare booster/mc in my garage. could even ship if you wanted, probably better for you to get from a JY though. Good luck.

    Seat

can you provide a picture of what you have? I may have what you need but i cannot be sure with what you have provided. specifically show what you mean by " all I have is both front portions and the driver side rear bracket"
  15. i just realized how much i love that color combo on your truck
  16. i have the magazine ill skim through it and upload any mj story there is
  17. when I was in college it used to happen offer. Just would be like a random bag of fast food trash, often wouldn't notice till it was flying around on the highway. I'm surpised I never got cited for littering.
  18. Whereas '97 and newer Cherokees have the latch located at a different height, requiring alterations to the latch position on the door posts. :yeah that: i have only ever swapped the motors and regulators but have harvested doors from the jy. not fun!
  19. should be fine for me
  20. :agree: But only the 97+ cherokee doors have the bigger windows. breckrider, if your xj doors are 96- then they are the same as your mj doors except I think some of the later in that range had a different size lock cylinder hole.
  21. taking the doors off can be a pain but if you have them and need to do it then stay with it. You should be able to get the doors hinge bolts out without stripping them if you are using the correct size torx and go really slow. Use some penetrating oil or the like several hours before you try. The door check is also going to need to be removed. If your door is salvageable you can always just move the power window regulators and possibly the locks from your Cherokee doors. The wiring is a pain because you have so much extra you don't use if you use the xj wiring. For mine I just worked mine to a couple of polarity reversing switches in the dash where the clock goes, later changed over to a bank of polarity reversing relays with simple ground switches in the dash to trigger them. Good luck
  22. not yet, haven't had a while lot of extra cash. but i am still looking for sure!
