if this information is correct you may have gotten lucky!

before you install that rear axle be sure you got a high enough dif ratio, if that axle came from a 4.0l mj then the ratio will be too low to efficiently run your 2.5l. :smart: guess that would have been more helpful before hand.

all mj exhausts were two pieces. downpipe from mani tailpipe from cat/muffler tailpipe is what i was talking about downpipe is like $40
-
you can get new tail pipe from autozone for <$75
-

Brakes started scrubbing this past week so i decided to replace a bunch of brake parts up front while i was at it. replaced: Brake pads rotor/hub assembly wheel bearings calipers wish i had thought ahead and bought some new soft lines but i didn't. still need to bleed all the way around but my step dad usually helps me with that speaking of which i picked up some THICK steaks and a 12 pack for fathers day, can't wait for that no pics because i was covered in grease and brake fluid but trust me those reman calipers are pretty with those new rotors! thinking about getting these rims eventually you guys think they will look good?

if you are doing a cd deck make sure its one that will work in the position you want to mount it in. some cd players don't like being sideways. how are you planning on wiring this thing? do you want the original deck to still work too? <- sort of like where you could throw a switch and one or the other would work? if you have a center console you may be able to mount it in there for easier access. Pics please!

you are right, you really should have an overflow tank if you are going to stay with the open system. Check ur local auto parts store for a universal one.

ive found a seller of a set restored rims but they are like 127ea plus shipping  i think they would be worth it, just don't have that kind of cash atm definitely considering these, wish it were a full set!

Looks like you have a renix 4.0l Inline 6 with an AW4 2wd transmission. 89= renix 4.0l = l6 auto 89 = AW4 tranny thank you much for that info. I am also trying to figure out which motor I have and which tranny....I work from home so everytime I am caught up I run out to look it over a bit more!

You can use any from 86-01 XJs but the 97-01 seals are thicker and many say they have a better seal. I have them on mine and the y do seal better, reducing wind noise, but you have to slam the door sometimes to get it to close all the way. Make sure you get them from a 4 door. Welcome ! :waving:

Looking for a set of 4 or 5 eliminator wheels (ten holes with the rivet ring around perimeter) I'm in middle TN willing to drive ~100 miles to pick up or arrange shipping if the price is right. <- area code is 37086. Willing to include a set of other stock wheels to be used as rollers in the deal. Not expecting to get a bunch of bites right away but if this post stands as it is I am still in the market! Please PM me if you have these, thanks!

Hard to believe that's legal :hmm: You get sh*t for your MJ and this person is purposely trying to kill animals, pets, priorities in that neighborhood seem to be skewed... The neighborhood lawn nazi with the immaculate lawn just leaves animal traps out with rat poison and cat food in them. She is not a nice person.

relyt120 replied to relyt120's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
thanks for the suggestions guys, any suggestions on source of tres or track bar?anything specifically i need to lube/grease up while I'm user there? -
so my DD is a 89 mj pioneer 4.0 auto 2wd and I want to do some maintenance in the front before i start my new job on the ninth. Hopefully cure some front end noises, steering popping, occasional death wobble with some replacement parts and maintenance. I presume little to no maintenance in the trucks lifetime in this area. do you guys have any recommendations/tips/warnings? I don't have any serious problems driving it but I just want to close a few avenues of failure while I have free time. Thanks yall.

Spitting / Sputtering / Backfiring
relyt120 replied to ftpiercecracker1's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
after I posted I thought yours might be different Ballast resistor is in good shape, replaced it not to long ago. I have yet to check the CPS, but it is newer and i have done the 'upgrades' to it as outlined by Cruiser, plus i have zero problems starting. Fuel pump is as quiet as ever. Every once in a while it will spit and sputter at a stop light, but the majority of the time it occurs while cruising with limited throttle application. I am pretty sure the FPR is not the issue, besides I have the newer fuel rail and intake manifold, so i don't know if yours would work if i even wanted to swap it out. This is the style fuel rail i have now. Sorry for the large pic, not mine.
