I have a large storage tub full of parts from MJ/XJ. I made a list of most of the parts inside and taped it to the top.
Now, I just have to remember to look at the list before I go and buy a new part.
Probably part of the package you are getting, but don't forget the transmission mount.
The clutch master cyl. may not work on the MJ. The later XJ master cyl stuck out further and are taller than the earlier style. Others may correct me on this.
I purchased a Horror Fright transmission jack to remove/install the trans/tcase when I did my swap. https://www.harborfreight.com/automotive/jacks-jack-stands/transmission-jacks/450-lb-low-lift-transmission-jack-61232.html
Good luck.
The 4.0 is a pretty resilient engine.
Do you have an open or closed cooling system?
If it were me, I would first have an engine flushed and repair/replace the radiator, water pump, and reservoir bottle and cap (if closed).
It sounds like your mechanic is recommending the above changes, anyway.
When I finished my basement, I was told that spacing on a wall could not be more than six feet from an outlet. That meant outlets were spaced no more than 12 feet - from the mid-point an outlet is within six feet.

I have the window sticker at home to check for more.

The Laredo package was offered in 87-88 (89?) as the top package group. Jeep dropped Laredo package for later years.
Mine is a '87 Laredo with all the options available that year.
