Mine came with the BA10/5. It went through 5 slave cylinders before I swapped out to an AX15 with an external slave cylinder. Like Eagle and 89 MJ asked - what engine is in your MJ? 4.0: 89 was a mixed year. The Peugeot BA10 was the trans for the first portion of production. Jeep switched to the AX15 with the internal slave cyl. for the second half of the model year. Jeep switched to the external slave cyl in 94. If you have an int. slave, you can swap the bell housing from a 94+ trans for the ext slave. If you have the BA10, there is no ext slave options. You have to keep swapping int slave cyls. 2.5: The AX5 was the transmission with the MJ. It was int slave cyl. The AX5 looks very similar to the AX15, but are not inter-changeable. The bell housing bolt patterns are diff. If you can find a Dodge Dakota with the AX5 from that time period, the bellhousing was ext slave and fit the Jeep 2.5.

It's not doing anything but collecting dust right now. However, it would cost more in postage to send it to you than it would cost to find a XJ in a junkyard and grab one. The piece is so small it could "fall into your tool bag" and not be seen on exiting.

I have a Hi-Lift. I can get it to lift, but it will not lower. I have read, and re-read the instructions, but it doesn't lower. I only use it to lift heavy items - pulling fence posts out of the ground.

The first two pictures are the MAP sensor The third is the headlight harness.

This is funny. A sign went up this summer at a vacant lot near my office about zoning changes. The sign mentions Advance Auto getting built on the lot. Now I see AA is closing 700+ stores (out of ~6000 stores). Does that mean they will not go forward with this new location? There are already 3 locations (plus CarQuest) within 10 miles of this new location.

Christmas is coming soon. I will put this on my “I’ve been nice this year” list.

I called hagerty once about another car. I was told I had to garage store it and I could only drive it to and from car shows. They asked for pictures of it. Once they saw the pictures it was a NO. I didn’t like the restrictions and would have not gone with them. So, I am glad they turned me down.

After reading and re-reading Jeremy's instructions, I went to get YouTube certified to add blue tooth to the radio. Jeremy's instructions and several YB videos showing how to add the wiring, add a blue tooth board, and providing power to the BT board. Jeremy's instructions will eliminate the AM band. Not too bad. I don't listen to AM radio anymore. With his method, I need to adapt the 3.5 mm plug to the port on my iPhone. Several of the other videos involve tapping into either a cassette or CD player. Again, I don't listen to tapes or CDs anymore. However, both require having a cass/CD in the player to active the BT to broadcast to the phone. One more wrinkle is using my phone to make/receive calls. My aftermarket unit is BT and has a microphone for calls.

Here it is 52381847_AUX-C1Instructions.pdf

In the DIY section, "What Minuit knows about...", Pete linked to a YT video showing someone performing the steps. In that video, you can see an instruction sheet that was downloaded from Jeremy's website - now defunct. I reached out to him - Doug - on his YT channel to ask if he still had the instruction document. He replied with the pdf attached!!! He also provided links to the harness wires and pins. Those links are still in the DIY thread. I looked the website (digikey.com) for USB type harness. The USB wire configuration uses 5 wires, while the one Jeremy used is only 3 wires. Since I am not an electronics expert, I don't know what the two extra wires control and how they interact with USB plug. I have an adapter for my iPhone that uses an 8mm male pin to the phones plug in port. However, a blue tooth dongle would be sweet. Does anyone know what the two extra wires control (both black)?

I know that Jeremy has retired from his radio repair business for health and job reasons. I have searched for info on the 'net about installing aux and/or BT to old AMC/Jeep radios. Is there a site that has a detailed write up on how to install/modify old radios for aux/BT. I searched on CC but could find written instructions or a parts list. I found a YT video on installing aux, but is was from '22. While that helped visualize the process, I need written instructions (cookbook) to perform the task. Thanks in advance.

coolant temperature sensor oddity
87MJTIM replied to EUREKA's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
A Renix has three coolant sensors. 1. Temp Gauge on dash - back of the head, close to the fire wall. 2. ECM - screws in to block below manifolds 3. E-fan switch - screws in to left side of radiator to control e-fan. -
86 MJ 2.5 AX5 Clutch Fork Issue
87MJTIM replied to dastrius's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I haven't changed it recently. Since I installed the AX15 I used either Pennzoil Syncromesh or tried 10/30 oil. Syncros are something I need to inspect. -
86 MJ 2.5 AX5 Clutch Fork Issue
87MJTIM replied to dastrius's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Sorry to hijack this, but... Does that part fit on the tip of the slave cylinder push rod? My AX15 has trouble going in to 1st and 2nd when shifting. It is really difficult when starting from a stop light. I have to push really hard and often have to shift through other gears. There is no grinding of gears when shifting. With engine off, I can shift through all gears. My online research suggests that the clutch is not fully disengaging. Would the additional tip help with releasing the clutch?
