  1. The "blue" gauges have the needles that go from 7 O'clock to 5 O'clock; the "Red" gauges go from 9 to 5. My 87 has the Blue. I pulled an 86 full cluster that is also blue. However, I have seen 87 and 88's that had Red clusters - both full and idiot lights. I think the clusters were what ever Jeep had in the parts bin when you MJ/XJ rolled by on the assembly line.
  2. NO! There is one turn of the CAM for two turns of the crank.
  3. Do yours have the same transmissions? Stock manual 4.0: 3.07 Stock auto 4.0: 3.55

    I'm back!

Simplest way (other than looking at a tag) is to jack up the rear end. Spin the tires two full turns and count the turns of the drive shaft. Divide that by 2. That is your ratio. ( I've always heard to do two turns of the tires to allow for the fractional turn. For example: ~6.2 is easier to eyeball then ~3.07) From the factory, a 4.0 5 spd will have 3.07 gears, 4.0 auto will have 3.55 gears
  5. Saw this today. Wanted to pass it on. And for all the Vets out there: Thank you! Veteran's Day
  6. The front grill....again!
  7. I guess he doesn't know his bible: Why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but fail to notice the beam in your own eye?
  8. DO NOT BUY THEM! The bed side does not matsh the wheel wells
  9. "I love the smell of napalm in morning. It's smell of...victory."
  10. I grew up outside of DC and witnessed many violations by cars with diplomatic tags. I never witnessed a event like the one in London. A sad and tragic event. However, I do remember incidents involving diplomats that caused personal injury and, yes, even death of a US citizen. As I recall, the diplomats were "recalled home" after the event and did not return to America. This is the "generally accepted" actions of the various country's state departments. While I do not condone the actions, the US is no different than other countries.
  11. Don't you think that was a little overkill? I mean, I can remove the air box without pulling the head.
  12. If you STFT jumps to 255 (or 0) and remains there, the ECU will default to Open Loop. The O2 sensor is detecting a lean condition. This is according to the Renix Fuel Injection manual pp. 2-3 where it describes "Pulse Width Modification (ALFACL)" and Open v. Closed Loop. Possible causes: low fuel pressure, clogged injector, or faulty O2 sensor. Additionally, you could have an intake leak allowing more air into the system. Possible manifold gasket or cracked exhaust manifold.
  13. I remember seeing similar pictures previously. But, the cars were only prototypes. They were NEVER produced for sales. Some of those pictured above may be one or more the prototypes. The original Mustang was built on the Falcon platform. There were Falcon versions of wagon and pick up. edit: pickup version Ranchero
  14. Besides the fact that the housings are different sizes and the brake/turn signals are wired completely different, I don't see why they couldn't fit.
  15. I believe some of these are re-prints or scanned documents on CD. https://www.faxonautoliterature.com/Search.aspx?c=91296
  16. If you give it gas, does it continue running? or does it die whether or not you give it gas?
  17. Dogs have masters. Cats have servants. As long as you know and remember this, you'll be fine.
  18. Technically, it is my wife's MJ, but I drive it. She bought it in June '87 just out of college. It just goes to show that if you take care of your things, they will last a long time. I still have both the MJ and my wife (31 yrs and counting).
  19. Can you get my aunt, Aunty Emm, down from the tree also? She was riding her bike with a basket on the handlebars. She kept going in circles saying to me: I’ll get you my pretty. And your little dog, Toto, too.
  20. Bushings and bearings are interchangeable. The reason for the 73 CJ5 with a 304 ci engine is the outer diameter of the bushing will fit in the engine crank hole and the inner diameter will accept the input shaft tip.
  21. Scan those puppies in to pdfs and offer them to us members!
  22. Got your pencil ready? Since the BA10 came with an internal slave cylinder and a 95 AX15 has an external slave cylinder, you will need to swap the hydraulic system to the external set up. For the AX15, BE SURE to get the cross member and trans mounting bracket. The old BA10 will not fit the AX15. You should replace the whole clutch kit (disk and pressure plate). When I did my swap, I read up on the steps and parts needed to do it. Many of the threads "suggested" that the clutch systems will work with the internal slave BA10 and the external slave AX15. It did work, but it never felt smooth to shift. I did additional research and found that the pressure plates changed when the AX15s switched from internal to external slaves. (I used Rockauto to compare separate part numbers for a) clutch kits, b) clutch disks, and c) pressure plates across multiple years. The kits and pressure plates changed when the switch to ext. occurred. The disks stayed the same for the life of the MJ/XL line.) When you remove the two top bolts that hold the bell housing to the engine (E12), be sure to take them to a body of water and throw them as far as you can into the water. Go and get yourself some hex head bolts to replace them. As stated above, the input shaft tip of the 95 AX15 is approx. 0.75", while your BA10 has tip of approx. 0.5". Be sure to get the correct bushing/bearing. For the later model AX15s, a proper fitting pilot bushing is Timken PB77HD, search under a 73 CJ5 304 ci Good luck. I love the AX15.
  23. Try searching junk yard for similar year XJs.
  24. Does the problem continue after unplugging the trailer? If so, then I would look at the trailer wiring. The lights for the trailer got wet. They’re connected to the rest of the truck through the harness
