  1. the wire is for a bed light, not a brake light. Some where on here is a thread for a company that supplies head liners. Try the vendor section.

    Jeep vs Bronco

My prior experience with a Bronco II (Broncette) was in '88. i got a rental when I was in CO. My wife and I were driving around the state doing tourist things. On one trip, we were driving an old railroad bed converted to a road. We were crossing a causeway between two mountains. The road bed was not smooth. The Broncette was bouncing all over the road. On either side were steep embankments down hill. The state did not believe in guard rails. I slowed down to a VERY slow pace to get off the causeway. After that experience, neither of us were impressed with a Bronco. So far, from what I've seen, my opinion is unchanged. My 2¢.
  3. Is that the "grassy knoll" in Dallas, TX?
  4. I have one from an 86 that came with the blue plug.

    For those who remember: https://bobrivers.com/white-ford-bronco/
  6. Replace lifters, push rods, and rockers, while you're in there. My 2¢.
  7. Radiator coolant temperature switch?
  8. Is that the original BA10 in the bed? If it is, that's a plus that it is already removed. If the seller insists you take it with the sale, ask for $500 off.
  9. Looks like the Red trail from TN to NY passes close to me thru MD.
  10. Remember: random is an Order.
  11. I have the same issue. When I release the gas pedal, the RPMs remain at 900-1100. I will tap the pedal and the RPMs drop down to ~700. Where did you get the spring? What size is it? It looks like you drilled a hole in the bracket. Is the hole in the pivoting plate already there or did you drill that also?
  12. The part in and of itself may be fine, it's just that when it fail (not If, but when) you have to drop the trans to replace it. As an original owner, mine went through five separate internal slave cyls. Some lasted for many years; some only lasted 2-3 years. The part is not expensive. Its the labor to drop the trans and reinstall that made it costly. As I have stated repeatedly on CC, mine saw 5, it was never going to see a 6th.
  13. The slave cylinder is going bad. Go ahead and replace it. It happened to me at least 5 times. Then I swapped in an AX15 with an external slave cyl.
  14. The two wire is the clutch cut-off switch. The harness must have come from a manual trans. An automatic would have a bridge connector in the plug. The single wire is a ground wire in the engine bay, near the firewall.
  15. OMG. The side photo looked like a Studebaker. The front showed the Chevy name and emblem that gave it away.
  16. What? It just a "conversion" van.
  17. Don’t the mirrors and door handles stick out further than the flairs? how will you address those?
  18. Looks like my wife's play list.
  19. I have an 87 4.0 and installed a 98 AX15. The 74 CJ5 bushing worked perfectly.
  20. So, let me get this straight. You want to perform a lot of modifications and fabricating (which will take time and money) only to undo what you did to take it back to what you had. Do I have that correct?
  21. First of all: What year is your MJ? What engine? What size was the tank you removed? Completer your signature with that info. The tank from an XJ will not fit. There are after market MJ tanks available. I bought one about 5-6 year ago. Search RockAuto. The sending unit from an XJ will not fit. It faces the wrong direction. Search for MTS on Comanche Club. They sell aftermarket pumps/sending units. Other than those two items, the last one (pump) will swap over.
  22. It was probably in Vietnam. Where were you?
  23. I was driving N on Rt 15 heading to PA. I saw a white SB in great condition. I waved as you passed me. I was driving a Chevy suburban towing a camper. nice MJ
