  1. i started off using facebook, after a few times they changed picture links, i switched to flickr for long term picture hosting (build threads and DIY)
  2. Non-Ethanol gas is available in Pennsylvania! Check out this site to see if there are any stations in your area who sell it: http://pure-gas.org/index.jsp?stateprov=PA I'm kinda sad there is not an 93 octane Non-Ethanol near me lol
  3. might as well, I'm pretty sure its a direct swap from the 8 1/4 Is that true? I have a set of disks I took off my 8 1/4, that originally came from a D35. I was going to sell them, but if its a direct swap, I'll put them on the 8 3/4 under my Duster. The KJ Libby's had rear disc breaks. There was a write up on here. It was straight forward XJ 8.25 drums to KJ 8.25 discs
  4. My Red MJ was an auto with the 4.56 gears. It did not have anything in the engine bay, and the trans was in the truck bed. Vinyl floors, bench, very basic cluster, no radio. another hard to beat bear bones DIY Jeep lol
  5. Check the heater core valve, it may be stuck or the vacuum line may have become disconnected. The valve can be removed with some creativity, if you choose not to replace it. Have you verified the heater door cable is connected to the door arm under the passenger side dash?
  6. Filled the charger last night with 93 for 3.119 a gallon :)
  7. Our Diesel prices dropped from 3.80 something to 3.35. It's the first time in years diesel actually dropped in price with gasoline.
  8. Currently our Gas prices for 87 octane are $2.79 per gallon. 93 octane the last time I filled up was $3.27. Hows the PPG looking for everyone?
  9. mostly just heavy rain and lightning for us. worst hit around 9;45 and passed over by 10;30. i took my girlfriend home at 11;30 just light rain to her house. we never lost power, just missed the last half of big bang theory, weather alert took over. i am surprised that my directv worked through the storm.
  10. At the moment... yes.... I plan to change shocks later.
  11. Update regarding the new cooling setup. It is still working very well. On my way home from Dauphin Island we started smelling gear oil. 3rd and 5th gears made a lot of noise as well.
  12. there is a thread in the DIY to convert from a BA-10/5, AX-15, or AW-4 to an AX-15, or AW4 I have no experience with 2.5Ls all I know is they came with AX-4 and AX-5 manual transmissions with 3.73 to 4.56 gearing. I have no idea what auto trans they use.
  13. yes, however i bought the ones with the variable rate. they ride very well but the extra weight of my grille guard has most of the "soft" section compressed. I needed to get a 2" spacer to compensate, the rear is still higher and thats how i wanted it, it still looks like it has a "stockish" stance
  14. my 1988 4.0 5-speed with AC has the football
  15. if its a manual 2wd to manual 4wd, 4wd version of the transmission transfer case and all the linkages for the 4wd shifter front axle front drive shaft shorten or replace the rear drive shaft. thats all i can think of at he moment
  16. Keep in mind that these are worn out 4wd springs Top is old, bottom new Hell Creek MT before after
  17. I have the hell creek mt springs and love them
  18. check the master cylinder in the cab, they tend to leak onto the fuse box. it could be leaking at either end of the clutch hose or along the line it self. the slave (i think ax5 had external) may be leaking. those are all the clutch components that contain fluid. you said you have replaced the master, so all that's left is the hose and slave cylinder. when i was having the same issue the master was bad, the hose was leaking and so was the internal slave, i replaced it all at one and did not look back.
  19. Literally. There is NO wiring necessary -- it's already there. The speedometers in both of your photos are the "old" style, which probably uses a metal clip and a screw to hold the cable to the speedometer head. The tachometers in that style don't have any way to calibrate between 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder, so if you buy one, be sure it came from a vehicle with the sae number of cylinders as yours. I thought there was a POT somewhere in the tach, It may have been a different year but... http://comancheclub.com/topic/29455-potentiometer-and-gas-gauge-questions/?hl=tach
  20. +1 :agree: Same leak i had, I finally found it after i converted my cooling from closed to open. I think its the hose that goes to the heater valve. I capped mine when i removed the heater valve.
  21. plasti-dip is fairly tuff when applied properly with 4-6 coats. I have it on my light bezels and they are holding up great. I havent done the grille yet as I am eventually planning to put on a 97+ front clip. then again maybe my plasti-dip is holding up so well because its shielded my my grille guard.... even paint will chip if its hit by a rock. at least with plasti-dip its super simple to patch up. it usually blends very well for touch ups.
  22. We paid $1500 for dads 1989 4.0 I-6, Auto 2wd, SWB. It however had receipts for around $1000 worth of repairs done to it within the past six months (radiator, exhaust, so on)
  23. :hijack: check out my signature for jeep manuals, they will be handy. good luck on your project!
  24. Make sure he's selling the mounting hardware with the grille guard. Usually those are just for looks and offer lite protection.
