Direct Mount Coolant Temperature Gauge
Blue88Comanche replied to HOrnbrod's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
that is awesome! -
And you owned this truck how long?....lol8 years, but to be fair I rarely opened the passenger door or even rode in that seat. Actually I think I only rode in the passenger seat twice I can remember last time being 2 or 3 years ago.
-
Today I discovered the passenger seat will tilt and is not a one position seat like the drivers seat.... But I'll never benefit from this discovery cause I don't use that seat lol. But Katelyn is happy now she can adjust the seat for a more comfy ride. I also cleaned out all the junk behind the seat and in the bed toolbox, sooooo much more room. Now I have all my emergency gear behind the drivers seat, an ax and gallon of water behind the passenger seat and a mostly empty tool box. I am very happy with my progress today. Just need to clean the oil out of the tool box. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Blue88Comanche replied to Black89Comanche's topic in The Pub
the highest offer i remember was 4K, But i'v had about 6 people offer to buy my MJ, and a couple of mom and pop used car lots offered as well while we where looking for dad's jeep. if only i could get someone to buy my car instead... -
it should be doable, i think i saw a couple threads on here. you will need a switch for the brake and the clutch to deactivate the cruise control.

can't tell from the pics, but if it has Disk brakes and you have a later 8.25, they should be a direct swap.

NP 231 vs NP242 shifter differences
Blue88Comanche replied to cruiser54's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
you can move the shift gate from one to the other. and it can be done while in the cab with the linkage hooked up. i swapped mine after i did my novak cable swap -

I'll start with the D30, it has developed a pinion seal leak over the past couple months, how difficult is it to change the pinion seal my self? And where can i get a new D30 breather tube? mine is damaged in a couple places and the plastic fitting is broken off. The D44 has apparently been leaking for a while through the passinger side shaft seal. i discovered it when i finally decided to fix my parking breaks not holding properly... brakes soaked in oil will do that... can i buy a shaft with pre-installed bearings and seal?

Down Shift issue AX-15
Blue88Comanche replied to Blue88Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I told them 10w30 for the trans. now if they did that or not who knows -
Last week I took my jeep to a local fast lube to get the trans and front diff oil changed. now it occasionally pops out of first, and when going from 5th to 4th it grinds or pops out of gear. All up shifting is fine. aside from oil is there anything they could have done to the tranny?

More work done on the boat today, Replaced the fuse box. Old Fuse Box by Blue88Comanche, on Flickr and the new New fuse box by Blue88Comanche, on Flickr and its alive! Short test run complete, tomorrow I'm planning to replace the lower unit gear oil, run it again, and pressure wash the boat Turns out my no start issue was a connector wire under the console corroded apart. So for the time being i bypassed the connector and spliced the wire back together.- 10 replies

The starter works, i jumped the solenoid and it works as well. I did not try to start the motor by jumping it. I tested the connections on the key switch and they all seem to work. The gauge back lights work but function of the gauges are not at the moment. Odd are once i discover the issue with the gauges the starter will work properly as well... Hopefully....- 10 replies

Last weekend, my family and Katelyn went up to our Fishing camp for the weekend to relax and get away from everything, but also to begin another project. Steven and I are working on my Grandfather's Bass Boat and hope to get it running again soon.. According to my grandfather it ran fine.... two years ago, and stored outside without a cover and no other protection or storage set up.... First up was to replace the trailer tires and we bought them before we left for the fish camp. First inspection shows, cracked seats, rotten seat boards, dead batteries, mildew, and leaves everywhere. The boat made the 3 hour trek back home without any issues. First parked it at Stevens house to clean off and to attempt to start after the batteries charged, the motor will not crank no power to starter. So yesterday i moved the boat to my house where it will likely stay for the foreseeable future. thus far i have determined the trolling motor, Accessories and, nav lights all work. I'll keep posting updates and pictures as i progress. Here are a few pics of the boat!

posi lock on dana 30 cad axle
Blue88Comanche replied to NorthWoods's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The D30 most likely has an Open Diff, meaning if the cad is unlocked and the TC is in any 4wd mode, only the rear would get power. with the cad unlocked the spider gears will spin as will the passenger side half shaft. Locking the cad will allow the front axle to work like a normal axle and you will have power in all 4wd modes. if the D30 has a locker then the cad would make it 3wd and the drivers side wheel would have power when the cad is unlocked and the tc is in 4wd
