  1. When it's wet I've already ride the brakes a bit when I leave the driveway to help deal with it. But when it happened with the boat I had traveled 50 ish miles in the interstate and another 30ish on the highway. That's what has me concerned. But it looks like disc brakes are coming sooner than later. Jeff
  2. the past couple times ive driven the jeep the rear brakes will lock up when i barely apply the brakes. usually it will stop acting up within a mile or so of driving. but once i was towing the boat while it was raining and the rears locked while coming to a stop at a red light (i kept the jeep and boat straight, and didn't hit anyone on ether side of me thankfully). the ive played with the prop valve to attempt to remedy the issue but I've been unsuccessful thus far. Any advise would be welcome. I'm not against removing the load valve if it would improve overall safety and performance.
  3. Mine is currently spliced into the brake lights. I used a multi-connector plug that will accept 7, 5, and 4 pin. I plan to wire in Reverse lights and trailer brakes, i may never use them but i like having the option. New Trailer harness plug by Blue88Comanche, on Flickr
  4. I feel your pain, iv been pondering the same thing to help distribute the electrical load
  5. Not me in the picture but that is the tent i used throughout Boy Scouts mom and dad have a 36' 5th wheel he bought for travle nursing, but we did take it on a couple family vacations and one Scouting trip (my mom and sister stayed in it). but they sold the F-250 so now the camper sits on jack stands but is still 100% usable. I don't seem to have any of my old pics from Boy Scouts, so i guess that covers my show and tell. But I'm hoping to get out camping again this fall with Katelyn. my grandfather has 40 acres in camden AL.... just need to clear out the overgrown road to the property....
  6. Might could get item 2, those Jeep Covers attach with a screw, just would need to carefully drill 5 holes per rim big enough for the mounting hardware. 1/4" ish screw? I have a couple sets and likely won't use them because i like my Turbines better 1876352509063 by Blue88Comanche, on Flickr you can kinda see the mounting holes in the picture below 1876141503788 by Blue88Comanche, on Flickr
  7. So far I replaced the grand Cherokee bottle with a stock 2.5L bottle that's located next to the airbox I haven't had any issues with it. The ZJ bottle on the firewall would boil over for some reason all the time, but now t the 2.5 XJ/MJ. The part number is above. I think the only reason why I'm occasionally overheating on the interstate now is because my water pump might need to be replaced. That's the only part of the cooling system I haven't replaced.. I can't imagine the exhaust manifold leaking into the engine compartment is helping anything as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. wouldn't they begin production of the 86 model in 85 to have an inventory of vehicles?
  9. we used a small bottle jack after the uppers where connected but yesterday, when i swapped the 2wd axle for a 4wd axle we where lucky enough to not need the jack
  10. are those 2 statements connected in some humorous way? not exactly, the first airfilter degraded, and coleton just kept the filter cage with a hand towel wrapped around it as a filter.. it was working but he had to take the filter out after he flooded the airbox, and he forgot to put it back in later and thus the clogged carb. I'm also planning to install a fuel filter as it currently does not have one.
  11. Replaced the air filter. The carb needs to be cleaned again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. over the years my MJ has taken out 2 deer... the first one my grandfather hit in Camden AL while driving back to the cabin. the second, years later in about the same area, he saw a couple cross the road so he slowed town to about 10 MPH as to avoid hitting one, well one charged the passenger door and killed itself..
  13. Ive pondered a setup to pull a Scamp 19' ultralight weight 5th wheel camper. weighs under 2200 - 2800 lbs dry depending on the package, id imagine less than 3500lbs loaded here is the PDF brochure, its on page 7 http://www.scamptrailers.com/images/pdfs/Scamp2014_Catalog.pdf
  14. Imagine a Fiat Renegade with a bed, that's probably what it would be in todays world. I've heard good things about that spintires game, no idea how accurately it handles, but still looks like a lot of fun. i played it in beta, and bought the game after it was released. the game play is a lot better than rigs of rods, the physics are better as are the persistent tire ruts. the only thing that bugs me about the game is the camera i can't ever seem to get it just how i want it, and most/all the vehicles don't have a good first person view. aside from the camera its a great game same, I also played the beta, never bought the game, I did however end up buying rig of rods successor Beamng. Never heard of "Beamng" guess I'll check it out tomorrow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. This past weekend Katelyn and I where able to get away from home and spend the weekend at my grandparents fishing camp. Aside from being just outright hot the weather was beautiful. Friday we loaded up my Comanche and left town later than i was planning. While i was there i was able to sell my old MJ bumper to a fellow CC member. We took the boat out a couple times and i managed to catch the biggest fish of the year in my family (we never had any luck catching bass). also achieved an awesome sunburn... 18. I broke my remote and wired it to new controls mounted on the dash to the right of the steering wheel. I just connected it to the leads on the solenoid. Jeff
  19. He is looking for a full size truck, 4x4, and under 10k. He found an f-150 he likes but we will see if dad co-signs for his first vehicle
  20. I painted the inside silver, and the outside Blue. This way when I get a good scratch it looks like it took it to the metal. Just gives it the warn in look. On the "First run with the tires" photo, If you look above the orange side marker on the drivers side you can see where I chipped the paint and the silver is showing through. 21. Mounted up the new 4wdrc tires on some cheap Axial beadlocks. They where a bit stiff with the foam and being in non-vented wheels didend help much. but after the foam was removed it seems to do very well. these tires are noticeably shorter than the other sets i had. making the rocks a bit more challenging. 23. Well I got the those plugged and the repair kit tucked away with the jack in the car. While I was at it I inflated the spare. In the morning I'll see if I have more than one hole, but no hissing is a good start. I also bought another repair kit for the MJ. Guess I should put the toolbox back in to hold the ever increasing supplies need to maintain the MJ. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Its the Stock Honcho Bumper and a 1:10 scale Warn Winch. I modified the bumper to clear the larger 2.2 tires i had orignally, but just went back to 1.9s...Are the krawlers in your pic the 2.2's? You wanna sell them? I have 2.2's now with losi rock claws, I'd like to change tires. Those where 2.2, but my cousin took them a couple weeks ago. And I got the tires seen on the Comanche and the last JK pic. Now I have some 1.9 4wdrc Rock Crushers the look nice and seem to be plenty sticky. Haven't taken it out on the rocks yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. On my way to work and the utility truck in front of me dropped a hook of some sort and impaled my rear tire. not really a big deal cause the Ford actually had a spare tire. My friends new hyundai only had a can of fix a flat in the trunk. so does your Daily Driven car have a spare? full size or doughnut? My MJ does not have a spare, the WJ had a full size, and both the Charger and the Fusion had doughnuts. Untitled by Blue88Comanche, on Flickr
