  1. :wavey: oh oh i want that
  2. i think hes trying to see whos is interested and where they are located, and where the wheeling would take place. alot simplier to post in the pub for everyone to see opposed to posting in the different regions. this is the pub for a reason, you can post what you want here. we would be in trouble if pete put you as a moderator, seems like you always have to have the last word and are wanting to be on a mini powertrip :rotfl2:
  3. i found your mj on craigslist. you buying that 91 2wd? trade ya my zj
  4. gave ya 11 clicks
  5. but its not titled Comanche Club Trail Run Get Together, so not as cool. it sounds to me like he wants to set up an annual run, that can grow woth time? kinda like petersons UA but without all the corporate
  6. Taking a saws-all to these things is no big deal. It is not like it is a 25 year old limited production vehicle or something. :hmm: but taking a sawzall to the bed and leaving it cutoff is a shame. itll be one of thoes damn P/O stories for they guy that buys it. and if you havent noticed they only made these trucks til 92, so its not like there are nearly as many left as xjs. so i stand by my poor truck statement :thwak: you for thinking shoddy work is ok
  7. poor truck :peek:
  8. FAIL
  9. unsure if its beefier but the unibody it would be mounting to would still be prone to cracking with either box and bigger tires
  10. thats a cool idea, but I'm not going to drive halfway across the country to do it
  11. :wall: :wall: :wall: :thwak: :hateputers: why did i click that
  12. just lay a bead around the center of the race (weld a ring). the heat will distort and shrink the race
  13. my fuel pump/ sender are fine, but i have an 89 mj 4 banger that i put a 96 4.0 in with the wiring harness, and from what ive gathered i can reverse the polarity to make it read the right direction, but the points values or sumthing are different so it won't be accurate. thats why i want a 91-92 sender becasue they had the HO.
  14. where are you favorite spots to drive/wheel in wa? ive always lived arount mt.rainer, so copper creek, ladd pass, and elbe trails but ive always been alone and my xj wasnt set up for severe trails without major risk of getting stuck
  15. only 412 ci  lol like thats small :USAflag: how did you pull the motor out of the mj? i looks like you just riggrd up to the motor and pulled, following the tcase with a jack so you could lower it? i recently put motor/tranny/tcase in my truck with a pretty painted engine compartment and it was a pain..
  16. i found a guy that straight bored throttle bodies at 62mm for $80 with the core of your old t-body. that gave me noticable seat of the pants feal, but i had a 2.5" exhaust and new cat. the best most to that motor was my banks header, burly sound, alot more low end and a big price tag.
  17. maybe stealership?? i done with school fri and a month ago or 2 i found 2 +97 xjs in the jy. if i have time ill check then. hey, if you go to do a 97+ door swap you should grab the door check.... just for future reference :D
  18. whats a CKP or did you mean CPS?
  19. i use to use royal purple then switched valvoline high miliage. i was at a job one day and a co-worker asked what oil i used: valvoline, he used the same stuff and his tj it began a ticking noise, then he swapped to castoral and no noise. i shortly did an oil change after that, then shortly after the oil change wanted to see how my xj would handle on the roof (see build sheet  ). now i choose castoral, didnt have time to notice if it took away the ticking but that spendy oil isnt woth it seeing as a change it every 3k due to blackness and gritty. i hear good things about amsoil, and when i get my swap done I'm filling the tranny with that. on a side not ive heard that when you change oil brands it can take up to 2 or 3 oil changes for the motor to accept the new formula, true or not i dunno, but i believe it, different chems at different amounts penetrating metal with other chems in it can take a while
  20. :rotf: such a diverse group
  21. my neighbor 4 doors down has a mj, and ive seen 4 other constantly drive by my house but unsure where they live, and within 5 miles i know where 3 other ones are parked
  22. half assing is never good. take pride in what you do and do it right ;)
  23. :agree: nice color
  24. i swear ive seen your truck out in eatonville,wa a few times within the last 2 years
  25. thats no joke. mine was loose so i grabbed a jy box. went to pull the pitman with my dinky little 3 jay puller, no luck. my dad has a service truck so i went to his place to use his badass 2 ton huyraulic puller. still not luck. used the puller bracket and slapped a 10ton porta power ram in the bracket. pulling with both hands i had the pump maxed out and it finally went KAPOW!! the previouse installer tightened it so much that the splines mushroomed into the shaft. staking it seems overboard, just get it nice and snug, they have lock washers on them to keep pressure and prevent backing from off.
