  1. If you end up using the Rubicon locker, just know that replacement parts are NLA, harder to find then a comanche sport bar or OEM rear bumper. Good luck.
  2. So what are you doing for suspension? Still solid/beam axles?
  3. Interesting, mine came out easy. The only issue I had was a welded nut broke off that held the skid plate in. Easy fix. And I zip tied the driveshaft out of the way
  4. Is your axle centered?
  5. Any chance you just did a valve cover gasket recently?
  6. Your best bet is eBay with cheap china tires. Looks like you can get mud tires or all terrains for about $400. https://ebay.us/m/UXX7fD https://ebay.us/m/53YVuS But I'm not saying they will be good.
  7. Did you see that in a store? I would love to try that, but I thought they discontinued it.
  8. I'm on the TJ Wrangler forum, they definitely appreciate the comanche. There are a few members on there that own one.
  9. I knew I should've gone!!! Next year🤞
  10. Build it how you want, when I am looking at vehicles, I tend to focus on price and body condition. Everything else I am comfortable working on. And if I can't afford it then I don't need to worry about it anyways.
  11. Man, all my buddies have 37s, maybe I should do these to my TJ🤔
  12. Just saw your build thread over on the Silverado forums, didn't notice it was you till I read "project Jeep Comanche Prerunner" and did a double take. The truck looks great!
  13. https://www.enginelabs.com/engine-tech/engine/explaining-under-and-oversized-engine-bearings-with-king-bearings/ Make sure your bearings are all the right size.
  14. To make completely sure you have adequate fuel pressure, rent a fuel pressure test kit from AutoZone or the like and verify pressure. Read post #5 https://naxja.org/threads/87-renix-4-0l-auto-weak-vs-strong-fuel-pump-sound-when-cranking.1063540/#post-245350096 There may also be a way to test that the PCM is firing the injectors properly.
  15. Oh ok, I thought the 18 and the 23 were the same. I guess I will never know AMC's reasoning for some things.
  16. My point was, why not just have only the 23 gallon tank if the 18 is the same external size?
  17. What on earth? Even if we're talking about the 18 gal tank, why would Jeep do that? Makes no sense.
  18. Agreed. Dropping the tank on an MJ vs an XJ, I could do 3 Comanches in the time it took me to do one XJ. Can't remember why tho. Mostly the rear axle being in the way, and having to use a pipe to break loose some of the skid plate bolts on my XJ. The breaker bar was bending... I found it made everything easier to either remove the driveshaft or zip tie it off to the side, so it's out of the way.
  19. Myself not being a structural engineer of any kind, at least 3/8"(?) of an inch, or the thickness of the original frame, depending how thick it is. Imo, over built is underated
  20. I'm sure everyone has done this at least once
  21. Nice, blue sea is high quality. I work in custom van upfitting, we do a lot of electrical and use them as our vendor.
  22. I found a caprice ppv 6.0l on the list as well... Immediately started looking up manual transmission swaps🤣
  23. I am definitely keeping an eye out.
