  1. This is always the correct answer.
  2. That is a genius way of moving the bed. I'm going to copy your methods when I get to cleaning and undercoating the back end of my '88. Excellent, excellent work. Keep it up!
  3. Oh boy. It looks like I purchased the Standard Motor Products DL-22 locks for my '88 comanche. I have to stop trusting rockauto on part compatibility. Now to check if mine have the tabs on back....
  4. Looking really good, especially with the extra rare louvers. IMHO turbines are the correct and only choice for the comanche. Can't wait for more of the restoration thread.
  5. Are the mating connectors still available on sites like digikey / mouser / newark / arrow? If so, I can imagine having an adapting harness would be beneficial.
  6. I'm digging the white walls on the turbine's. Nice. Looks pretty clean for the age!
  7. Looking extra fly. Very nice color indeed.
  8. Oh man and it's a metric ton package. Hubba hubba. That can easily do another 500k
  9. Just to confirm, this part is designed to replace the 4 way flasher, and works well with led lights? If you can elaborate on what it does and it's benefits that would be great Thanks.
  10. Oh man, same color and length as mine! Nice!
  11. The MJ dude from Wisconsin has entered the building The Reclaimer Part II
  12. Excellent work! A good reminder that I need to sort out my rear suspension and undercoat this spring.
  13. Oh man this is great. Did not know rockauto had promo codes.
  14. Here's a better photo. It definitely seems that my radiator was replaced and the captured nut was not free spinning on the transmission cooler line so the previous owner did what they could to remove it, but they bent the cooler line.
  15. Oof. Dude that's rough. I hope you're doing ok
  16. It could be the steering gearbox bracket / spacer. For some reason, the triangular shaped bracket is a thin cross section cast part. When cast iron fails it usually creates a fatigue line and then snaps. Sometimes it releases stored energy and makes noise. Here's the direct link to what I'm talking about:
  17. Yeah I really hope keyparts makes them available. I think it's fair to say that most folks had to fabricate something to make the seat work. One of my driver seat studs snapped off so I had to weld a bolt in it's place. I also had to weld the flange on the bottom of my bench back because the bottom flange dissolved
  18. Yes indeed. Salt absolutely kills east coast trucks.
  19. Nice find! I believe the 86 had the 3 speed auto with the optional column shift indicator in front of the gauge cluster, just like yours above. The later years all had the 4 speed Aisin-Warner aw4 as the auto transmission.
  20. Well, think of it this way. You can always add a cage and a 5 point harness with a welder. Now you have an excuse to buy a welder You're welcome
  21. That shift indicator is looking extra spice! Nice job.
  22. I have known several folks that have re-shingled their roof with good results. As in, patch the bad section of their roof and not redo the entire roof. If there is not any significant impact damage (say from a tree limb), you should be able to inspect your roof, see if the asphalt paper has torn, decide on whether its ok and just re-shingle or install some new asphalt paper and re-shingle. My den was re-shingled in 2003 and it's still been working pretty great. Good luck!
  23. Poor lil guy. Dang. Not too much looks salvageable there. The good news is these 4.0L engines are still commonplace and its probably just worth it to install another known working one if it can be found for cheap. Good luck and nice job saving the rest of the xj!
