  1. where'd you get that wood grain???
  2. rear bumper with side rails, d rings and 2" hitch. as close to, if not even with the tailgate. ill take some sliders too. get this guy started already!!! :clapping:
  3. the tails and dash could be as simple as the fuse. it likes to pop. as for the leak check out your firewall for open holes or anything like that but yes the powder trick is awsome. good work man, keep it up or at least make someone else while your gone!
  4. hell yeah i was wondering if you were going to post up :wrench: looks good you spent more time on yours then i did on mine thats for sure. i wish i had gotten a 00 or 01 8.25 cause the internals seem stouter then in my 97. what did you coat it with? and why the wheel spacers? i thought the 8.25 was longer then the turdy5 :dunno:
  5. http://www.barnes4wd.com/index.php?cPath=474 :chillin:
  6. sounds like decent surf to me :D
  7. the mounting studs off the Zj are about a 1/4 of an inch longer maybe a lil less. the stock ones will work but the nut will be at the end of the threads as where the Zj studs have some threads sticking out after the nut is tightened. i guess its a paranoid safety thing but why not for people who havent done the swap if you use the ZJ mounting studs they will be "toed in" when you seat them and youll have to beat the backing plate on. i don't recommend. it can strip the studs. i used my punches to tap down between the studs and the axle to pry them out a bit. went on with no 2 pound hammer after that  thanks again guys!

    What would YOU do?

id go with option 3. then lift it 2 inches throw on some ATs, you've got it made good looking stance, enough height/flex to do a little something
  10. it does look like its best fit is Euro land. i wouldnt drive one but id see what it could do on the trail before i knock it
  11. ahhh i don't really like the spring under. never have. i constantly drag those things on everything but at least they take the beating i guess. I'm still going to run it for awhile because i do like the ride height. thanks again flint. i also got mine from a 97 zj. forgot to grab the mounting studs but I'm going back for them this week. as for brakelines I'm just going to buy new hardlines a tad shorter to help build a bit more pressure maybe.
  12. welp i got it. it just wasnt seated right on there. i guess with me in a hurry to finish grinding the backing plates and helping put down a tile floor i got caught up in the mix of things. just needed to step back and take a breath  8) as for an update. ive got everything ready to go get welded and disc brakes now on. I'm going to install the long arms on the 4.5 lift, see if i gain anything, then do the rear swap and up the front to 6, 6.5 maybe. can't wait! does anybody even make 6" springs anymore???
  13. i was putting on the backing plate so i decided to test out the caliper to see if it would line up right with the axle shaft and it doesnt. theres no way in hell you could put a rotor on there. its about a 1-1/2 to 2 inches off. whats the deal?!?! all the write ups ive read said it was a straight bolt on and it is but doesnt line up.
  14. at what point do you really need one?
  15. didnt even watch it when i saw the link said charlie sheen. what is everybodies deal with that guy! not even a good actor and over the hill. it was time for hiim to have a breakdown/midlife crisis but damn is that all thats going on in hollywood. well really who gives a f**k. i havent seen a good movie/show in ages........wait.. Bobs Burgers LOL
  16. your grill is upside down!
  17. swapped in 10 slot chrome grill (don't know if i like it yet), got extra 8.25 shaft, put in extended studs in all three shafts (d30 studs), got out the d30 extra shafts, went through some mud, attempted to tint back glass......failed. tried to find disc converstion parts for the 8.25.....failed. ah and grabbed black windshield trim :D

    Gas hit 3.45

its still 3.25 over here in Memphis unless it went up again over night. last i heard we (southerners) we're supposed to top out at 3.50 but I'm really seeing the 4 dollars coming our way too
  19. believe me if i could do that trick, i would :( ill get it though
  20. pretty good job for a first time. how fun was it getting that hub out. I'm fighting one now on my spare axle :fs1:
  21. ^^^^^ now thats how you do it! i liked the "you want a spotter?"....."no." :rotf:
  22. seems like ive said it before but awsome porno stache' man and you could of had that! those bumps where at crawl speeds and then you hit the gas after you didnt make it :shake: still fun to watch though
  23. doesnt the backing plate off a liberty fit already on a 8.25 since thats what some had? not like ill find one in a JY around here but just incase i do. aside from that, my 8.25 is now ready for perches/shock mounts monday. had to grind for about thirty minutes after the torch had its way :brows: so for a wrap up, i set the perches 42" apart but what about that dang pinion angle??? I'm using stock 4wd leafs surely one of you knows what you set yours to. I'm sure ill know what looks "right" when I'm about to do it but being almost exact is where id like to be. as for shock mounts, i can figure them out on my own.
  24. hell yeah! thanks for this. i just figured out how to put back in my spider gears!
  25. yeah I'm thinking limited-slip but funds don't support that idea right now. if i can't get those spider gears back right then i guess ill do something but until then..... about the disc brake conversion. I'm pretty sure on what i need to grab from the ZJ but does it matter the year i get it off of? or axle? i havent been to a couple JYs but the ones i have been to don't have many to choose from. ZJs that is.
