  1. how crazy is that! not only was a cherokee hit but hit by a freakin comanche!!! what an unlucky bastard. :fs1:
  2. i really liked that style and always wondered about the rears fitting correctly. finally i just said screw it cause i knew a brush with a tree would prolly destroy them or my fender well or both. the stock ones bend in nicely
  3. look at this crazy crew. totally random assortment of people here bought together by one thing. the Comanche!
  4. hell i just suggested something like this not too long ago but everyone didnt go for it. mine was more of a meet-and-wheel thing but same idea of getting together no matter what part of the country. i don't know how far it is from me but i doubt my bitchass will make it. I'm seriously due for a road trip though and been trying to think of where/when to go
  5. yup. i bought new perches, ubolts and shock mounts but grabbed the spring plates from an XJ.
  6. i was just thinking about your truck man. how does it handle on/off road with 33s???? your running hell creek 4.5 springs right, if you bought the kit just use the shackles that came from rough country
  7. unless your planing to do some serious offroading SUA is fine. even with moderate offroading. ive got 4.5 and love the ride height but i do get serious offroad and those spring plates act like damn graders/walls. so if your just cruise'n trails, stick to spring under and youll have the height/look you want
  8. sure the front is slightly harder then the rear to lift but really easy to do. i did mine by myself! of course i had my brother help muscle the axle around once or twice but it can be done. just pick a day and go. what you don't know youll figure out as you get there. I'm telling you.
  9. this has nothing to do with your question but did you ever get around to lifting the front of your truck??
  10. i think the tie-ins are basicly the same thing as a brace. not only does it hold the bumper better/make the front end stouter but I'm thinking ups the strength on the steering box/frame connection as well. made me feel a hell of a lot better when i bolted in those tie-ins i got with my JCR bumper
  11. twist a hair counter clockwise while pulling down and out. assuming you crawled under from behind the drivers wheel and are laying with your head just under the passenger side. i removed the starter and steering damper as well and moved around the cooler lines. its been soo long but i struggled with it at first too. glad i don't have stock suspension anymore :shake: hope you get it edit: $#!& if i remembered correctly just now, i had to undo the oil pump first to get it to drop better! just remember to put it back on right before you put the pan up to bolt it in. theres a little lip in the 4.0 pan that grabs it.
  12. well i put out a little corn but didnt snag the camera. i fugred ill be able to tell just by the amount of traffic back there, whats all really there. either way I'm not going to stop going back there. the deer will just have to get used to me. afterall i cleaned up that whole area for wheelin'. not deer. ive still got plenty of deer jerky and sausage. I'm not looking to kill these deer. more like raise. i work at a hunting lodge so ive got my pick of game to kill  plus I'm no environmentalist. i kill as i see fit and cut down any tree i see fit to cut. there is a point though when enough is enough but thats far from where the eco nuts are at mentally.
  13. I'm stoked about it. i was driving through my only decent mudhole when i looked over in an old tread and boom, deer tracks. I'm saying its a doe and fawns but there was a set off by its self and bigger so I'm hoping buck. theres always been one coon back there and now baby tracks are showing up too. i guess they like that water hole for some reason. it is right in an area i clear cut all the smaller trees so its more open then the rest and nice and grassy. I'm going to grab a barrell feeder and primos cam from work to see whats really up. i might even grab some hose and run a line back to the hole for fresh water. if all this pans out with deer, coons and maybe other animals in time what could i do to protect it? most of it isnt my land but ive used it for going on 17 years. its not many acres either. anywhere from at least ten to twenty five but its mostly woods. you can see the tree line in my avatar. i know the owners well and i know the wouldnt mind me doing this but id just like to keep people out from shooting them. granted if they wonder out into the open field and some tweeker is there, yeah. what can you do. id still like to raise and hunt a few though. coons mainly, deer just to look at. unless i get a lot then you know
  14. well i went out and made my own bracket to fit with that one screw. i didnt think it would hold well but ill be damned if it does! i just really wanted it right where the ashtray was. i looked around before going with that spot and really its the best possible bolt-in spot....if your a non-smoker that is ;) thanks for the replies guys
  15. yup i tried the one hole thing but ive got a midland cb and its looong. i have to put the bracket at the top of the ashtray slot to fit it nicely in there. if it wasnt raining id go mess around with it :fs2: i don't know about the back wall. it crossed my mind. id like it somewhere where i can see it. id love to hang it up around the mirror but again its a looong @$$ cb compaired to the little ones i see.
  16. ive had my CB hooked up for a little while now and its just been sitting on the tranny hump. i wanted to mount it right where the ashtray goes but theres nothing really to hook a screw into back there. my question is where did you mount your CB? i know a lot of XJ guys put them on the side of the hump but I'm not really liking that. thanks
  17. wish i could have those bucket seat brackets :brows:
  18. exactly i was just thinking that. id like to get my hands on some of those parts but not for that much!
  19. buggies are cool as hell but if you make them like the one you posted where are you going to carry spare parts/camping gear? ive always liked the idea of a narrow flatbed but can't seem to find anyone who has even close to what i want. one day ill get around to it but yeah my bed is getting new dents almost everytime i wheel it
  20. what were the steps involved when whoever did the hidden winch inside the crossmember? i know several members have done it. that way you wouldnt loose the approach angle and depending on what you had to do it might be less work.

while I'm all for hardcore rigs, i still hate to see it get cut up :(
  22. Comanche Club strikes again i assume pics are soon to follow :redX:
  23. well lets see. new JCR bumper, new Midland CB and 9ft whip, new adj. mirrors, more front end chrome, rock krawler long arms, used 33s, new driving light covers, uhhhh sh*t i know theres more but I'm got to get to work!!!
  24. i just switched in pennzoil 10w40 to clean out the watered down 10w30 and it runs a lot better. i hear no valve noise AT ALL anymore after shutoff, just the oil draining back into the pan. ill run that for a few weeks and then change the filter to WIX and oil to Rotella (forgot delo  ) i run nothing but synth oil in my maxima though and it up the performance after the first change
  25. all i know is someone needs to step up to the plate and fix this country but the broken system keeps too many pockets fat but the peoples
