-
hell i just want to see the MJ. with that combo it at least better have 35s!
-
it'd be interesting to see how they did that. i just hope some sleeze doesnt jew out the Comanche Club for himself!
-
x2 i hear lowes is good for drain plugs for the floor. I'm going to check that out this weekend

 that is an awsome MJ. just add up the new KM2s with the cost of the lift, even the new parts. decide what you think its worth and go from there. even though they were new things when HE bought them, it doesnt mean you pay new prices after he's used them no matter how much.

Dropping Oil Pan on 88 MJ 4.0L w 4x4
SW86 replied to zekekb's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
haha ive been there. once i just plum f**king forgot to put the pump back on! when i noticed i was already bolting up the pan. i just let it drop and slid that thing in there. i dread it cause now I'm about to throw on a new oil pump. i hate dropping the pan :hateputers: everything should droop as you raise it. i know i took the starter out and set it on the UCA just for more space. -
Taking a saws-all to these things is no big deal. It is not like it is a 25 year old limited production vehicle or something. :hmm: but taking a sawzall to the bed and leaving it cutoff is a shame. itll be one of thoes damn P/O stories for they guy that buys it. and if you havent noticed they only made these trucks til 92, so its not like there are nearly as many left as xjs. so i stand by my poor truck statement :thwak: you for thinking shoddy work is ok Sorry about that Cody4359. I agree with you 100%. It was my attempt at sarcastic humor that didnt come out right. These really are 25 year old limited production vehicles and I will never understand why anyone would want to hack them up. It seems it is the first thing a lot of people do. It's especially true with a rust free bed. It is worse than taking a black dash (which as near as I can tell was available for only two years) and painting it spray can red. Or chopping up the door panels to hold a couple of wal mart speakers. I don't get it. :shake: hey i got it and laughed about it. but one thing about the internet is we don't know you. so a common sarcastic remark is taken as you being a smartass by a few. i do agree with him about doing terrible work. not saying yours is cause i didnt really look at it all that well. but just go back and touch that s**t up. i mean these are great old trucks, while it is yours to with what you want, you should be proud to own one because the Mj was an awsome idea that never really had its hay-day. now with numbers slowly disappearing that MJ you just chopped MIGHT end up as another victim of the JY becuase the next owner doesnt like what you did. maybe not, i don't know, just saying you know. cherish it

well then just have sections of the states where that group of owners gets together. it doesnt have to be country wide i suppose. hell or even do cities but i doubt enough people all live in one city to do a good meeting. i just think it would be really interesting to see this happen. espcially since these trucks arent just going to show up everyday. though remaining ones still do. if more people *cough*moderators* would just get in on this to firm up ideas, cause i know a decent amount of people would show. id drive a day or so if i knew id end up at an awsome wheelin destination like Colorado or Utah. i know other people would to espcially if you'll get to see a lot more Mjs AND WHEEL in the end. id let a 2wd guy/gal ride with me down a few trails  maybe setup a list of people and pay a small fee to set this up with owners of hotels, trails etc. as a actual club. but that is a LOT of time to organize.

:agree: nailed it to a T. its a b*tch but with those steps it'll side right out. -
how much did you actually cut off?

After joining a local club and doing group runs and such. i was thinking. why not do a Comanche Club run once a year? we could pick a location around where most of the people would be coming from so gas wouldnt be such a killer. do all sorts of trails from cruises on 2s up to 5s if your MJ can do it. i know most ORV places give discounts and deals to clubs doing runs or events. so why not? has no one ever brought this idea up? even the stock guys could come out to the trail head/camp grounds and set up camp. that way we wouldnt just have trail rigs but nice clean looking 2wds as well. i don't know maybe ive just got too much time on my hands today :chillin:

ive heard decent things about yota axles. its just the third member that sucks. same thing with sami axles. congrats on the jeep! you now have a jeep with a actual frame :shake:
-
yup thats what i remembered about rotella, it has the zinc that our engines need. i guess ill pick some up today along with a new filter, tranny/trans case fluid and diff fluid. might as well go all out since i took that dunk through that ditch. who knows where water got into. thanks guys one more ?, when changing diff fluid do you put a gasket back on or just go with RVT? ive put the gasket but i really don't want to hassle with it anymore.
-
its got 10w30 pennzoil in it now but i need to change it out. i figured with the heat starting to rise a thicker oil wouldnt hurt.
-
i know this has been over and over and over and i seem to recall Rotella 15w 40 as the oil of choice for our older engines??? :dunce:
-
looks like a pretty sweet ride. love those graphics
-
ahh didnt know it was a lwb. right on. post pics
