  1. Where are you? I bet someone here could even recommend a good shop close to you.
  2. I haven't dealt with those in this application, but in my '87 F-350. LMC Truck had replacements for that vehicle. I bet there is an acceptable replacement somewhere.
  3. Nice! I would like to have a plow for mine, but in reality, I have no need. We have a plow for one of our pickups at work, we have 8 lots and driveways we need to keep clear. Sometimes it's used 6-8 times a winter, and it has gone 2 years in a row without being used at all. Mine has hauled a few loads of firewood, though.
  4. So I tried the wheels on my intended axles. They fit on the disc brake 4:10 8.25 Liberty rear. They do not fit in the CAD 4.10 Dana 30 front. I think t may have been fibbed to on what they came off of...
  5. Which one? The one that looks orange and stays on, or the flashing wrench?
  6. Are those bushings no longer available? From my experience, by this age on our trucks, they are usually shot.
  7. Well, life happens, so I'm forced to drive my truck. My daughter, with 3 kids is driving my full size, so she can have a rear seat, her car is in need of an engine. What's this maintenance of which you speak? Anyway, I decided I was no longer comfortable relying on the dryrotted tires on it. I had gotten a set of 2000 Cherokee Icons, and ordered a set of tires for those. The tire shop tried to fit them, and the center bore on the wheel is too small? Is that just my D35, or do the later Cherokees have a different wheel center bore? Gonna have to grab my caliper, and measure my KJ 8.25 and my 4.10 D30 before I install those. At least I saved some money on my "temporary" tires... 🤪
  8. I think you have to work in an order you see as making sense to get the most projects done. I don't know you or your.workflow, but doing smaller pieces of the bigger jobs, then stepping to a different project.doesn't sound as if it would work for you. If it could, you might find that a big help. I can do that, and have several projects going at once. But I get that's kind of unusual.

    wood stoves

With my stove, I let it burn down quite a ways, then reload. I don't have a thermostat, I would guess that controls your inlet air. My Lopi Endeavor has an inlet damper, and a bypass damper. Before I open the door, I open up my inlet damper, and let the flames pick up. Then I open the bypass damper, which allows the flames and smoke to go straight up the flue. When I open the door, you can feel the air rushing IN the door, and.nothing rolls out. Obviously, every stove and their controls are different, but if it's drawing good, it should pull air in through the door, and not puff out.
  10. Ok, glad you got it handled.
  11. I may have a set of the tail cone bolts in a scrap231J, my nephew didn't replace a U joint in time and the case came apart when the driveshaft came off. I also can pull and measure a bell housing bolt today.
  12. Thanks, I picked up a set. They were the silver Cherokee version, but the PO painted them Duplicolor Wheel Graphite. And gave me the left over paints, 6 cans including cleaner, primer paint and clear. One had been repaired on the inside, so I'm still looking for one. It's still usable, and looks as if it had very little weight. Probably going to mount up a set of snow tires tomorrow.
  13. Thanks. I think I'll do my own, I think I can make it a little more secure and rattle free at the same time. Great place to start from, though.
  14. Tell us more! Did you build it yourself, or is it on the market? I was considering modifying the JCR DIY rear bumper to add a license step pocket.
  15. My guess would be that shipping would be a deal killer.
  16. 86 came with a GM 2.8 Liter V-6. Generally considered undesirable.
  17. We need more information. Auto or manual. Interior condition? Small hole in the floorboards, how is the frame? On the last pic, it looks like peeling paint just behind the tire. Is it original paint? Or is that something else and my deep zoom is fooling me. I paid $1200 for my no stunning, but rust free '87, 2wd 4.0 BA10-5 shortbed manual truck. The carpet was pulled up so I could see the floorboards. I had evidence of ownership history, I am the second person to register it. Long bed, 4x4 adds value, 2.8 liter takes away, probably more. I would say you have a $1000 truck. I bet you could find a buyer at $1500 if you can be patient.
  18. Great Choice. Probably the best for you, for sure. Still, someday one hopes Karma meets up with the a$$hat. I disagree. I think people are a true Bell Curve, as many good as bad. It just seems the bad sticks to our brains better than the good.
  19. Thanks for bumping that, I missed it. Good read, and good for you. So I am curious, did anything ever happen to your boss? In my mind, he should have been punished somehow. Abandoning someone hundreds of miles from home should have consequences.
  20. And you didn't post the auction here?
  21. For louvers like that, you can have them punched into your hood, pretty simple sheet metal work with an iron worker with a deep enough throat. Run you about $1.00 a punch. You would have to remove any structure behind them, then replace it after they were punched. That would probably be the hardest part of the whole project.
  22. I haven't found the paper sheet. I didn't notice it when I had the bench seat out when I pulled the carpet, and I don't remember that there is anything on the back wall of the cab. I need to go on a hunt and see if I can find it. It's not listed in my Registry thread.
  23. My base truck has a Pioneer Supertuner. They were the cool radio when I was in High School, Class of 1980. Since no radio is listed in the build sheet, I assume there was no OEM radio and the original owner had it added near delivery.
  24. Do you weld? Looking at your name and profile, I would assume so. Replacement floor pans are pretty readily available. Fixing that Nader pin is bound to be tougher, but a similar process. You will have to find a section from a parts truck, I would guess. Good luck, have patience, you can get her done.
  25. Well dang. I have a guy that works for me, the only triggers he knows of are lack of sleep and illness. He can go years without a seizure, but he has warning of his seizures since he became an adult. You'll get there.
