It's always a good idea to have a pressure regulator with a bypass return line when you run an electric pump. The constant flow of fuel keeps the pump cool. It's not mandatory, just a good idea. You can fit a length of hose in place of the pump and install an external pump. Depending on the pressure provided to the TBI, you maybe could just put in a pressure regulator with the factory pump. If it's like GM TBI with 15 PSI it could work. If it's up above 40, a pressure regulator may not work. But I'd personally try to get the TBI running. I like it over a carburetor any day.

Total accumulation is only an inch or two so far. The storm isn't done though. Tomorrow will bring more.

Yeah, the math is well understood. Trouble is, there are so many equations to run that even our biggest computers can't do them fast enough to be useful. They can generate a very accurate forecast for the next 24 hours. But it takes weeks to generate it. So it's not useful. Yet.

Rain has started here. Could turn into snow. We'll see what happens.

They do tend to exaggerate a lot. But 1-2 feet or more is a lot. It probably won't be as bad as some are suggesting but it probably will be significant. But yeah, people are going nuts over this. I'm already ready for a storm. I always have supplies on hand in the winter.

I get a little binding in tight turns with my 242 and automatic in my 01 XJ. The differential in the case has some torque bias so it's not completely open.

It also doesn't hurt to go back once a year and readjust things. Sometimes they work their way out of tune and you need to go back and adjust them. I really don't see that things are changing. People have always been cheap and never have any idea on how hard real work is. I mean, it's a valid complaint. People want to pay nothing and get everything and they are stunned when they can't get it. But I don't see any difference over the last many decades.

The Ford 351 and Dodge 360 were similar in reliability from the same era. The TH350/C4/TF904 are pretty close in reliability, as are the TH400/C6/TF727. They all used Dana 44's though the Chevy 10 bolt is basically just a GM version that's very close (it even uses Dana 44 outers). Kind of six of one, half dozen of another there.

Most likely a CJ5. That shape door was CJ2 through CJ6. The CJ6 is a stretched CJ5 where the back end is longer and that's obviously not a 6. It looks like the fenders are from a CJ5 so that's what I'd bank on. The CJ7 and CJ8 had a "square" bottom to the door (with rounded corners). The rear axle was about a foot further back and they didn't need to have the door go up and around the wheel well.

I lean towards GM so I'd favor a K5 (Blazer or Jimmy) over the others. But realistically I'd take any of them.

Yeah, I've lost a few high school classmates over the years. I mean, you expect that things like car accidents or the like will happen. But a few of them have had some health issues that took them out. Hearing about it really sobers you up and makes you think about how much longer you'll have on this ball of rock.

Yeah, it's better than McDonald's by a long shot. But it's still just a fast food burger. We're getting them here. One is open in Aurora, one just opened by Park Meadows, and they're building one down in Castle Rock by the outlet mall. I think there's one down at least down in CO Springs.

I lived in Orange County (between LA and San Diego) for a while. I never really found any hidden gems. But I did learn that when it came time to driving in rush hour, plan extra time for varying traffic. You may or may not need it. And be flexible in your plans accordingly. Everyone talks about In-N-Out burgers and they're good. But I also like Fatburger as well. They don't get as much good press as In-N-Out If you find yourself near either one, it's worth a shot for lunch.

Go to rockauto.com Select your year model. Search on "Drive Shaft Pinion Yoke". Half a dozen options to choose from. The front Dana 30 and the rear Dana 44 use the same yoke. The Dana 35 uses a different yoke so make sure you don't pick one of those.

On second thought, let's not go to Camelot. 'Tis a silly place. Anarcho-syndicalist commune or a moistened bink lobbing scimitars?

Off the top of my head 1. A flat fender. It's iconic. Takes you back to days past. 2. A full size Wagoneer or Cherokee. It's fun to drive those old tanks around. 3. An XJ. They are a true utility vehicle that is easy to drive and it fits in parking lots easily. 4. TJ/LJ Rubicon. It's the last of the evolution of the CJ series before they did a clean sheet redesign with the JK. It's a nice bookend to the old flat fender. The 4.0 is probably the best Jeep engine offered and this one has the last generation. 5. A Forward Controls truck. FC150 or FC170. It's a unique Jeep that you just don't see any more.

Looking at parts for the Dana 80 I'm building, this song comes to mind...
