  1. I love it! Of course, I love old trucks. I had a 54 GMC 5 window that I restored and put a SB Chev. engine in. Wish I still had it.
  2. I must be a little older than you..........when I was growing up there were 2 jeep owners in the neighborhood. They both drove military surplus jeeps everyday. One of them trimmed trees on the side and had a jeep trailer that he carried all of his equipment in. I was fascinated with him always hanging around and asking questions. He used to pay me to help train his hunting dogs. Good old days
  3. Careful, I am a 89 Comanche owner since it's birth and also a JK owner (not snarky). Just a Jeep Lover.
  4. Some of the larger mirrors are too big. The sun visors hit the mirror when you fold it down. Better to stick with the small ones.
  5. It's a red letter day if I spot a Comanche in this area. I cannot remember when I've seen one. I have seen one in Athens several years ago.
  6. This is a 3.8 V6 not the easy to work on 4.0. Everything cramped up against the firewall. Had to remove the front drive shaft just to see the starter. The starter has a heat shield shield cover over it and has to be removed to be able to remove starter. Wish I were 20 years younger.
  7. I am here to tell you that working on a Comanche is a joy compared to a Wrangler. I am in the process of replacing the battery cables. I ordered cable upgrade kit from ksuspension. Cables to the starter, alternator and the ground to the engines are a pita. I spent hours today just getting the starter loose. Have not even found the ground to the engine yet. Thank god for Comanches
  8. Thermostat could be stuck open. I had that happen on one of the coldest days of winter.
  9. Great looking truck, glad you got before it was destroyed. I very familiar with the dry side of Washington, my step-son and family live in Walla Walla. Enjoy the truck and welcome to the addiction.
  10. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
  11. Somehow I posted this in the wrong place, Sorry. Old folks sometimes miss the mark.
  12. I have never needed 4wd. Agreed it wound be nice to have in case you did need it. You have that decision to make. I bought my truck 32 years ago new been driving it hunting down old logging roads, you name it. Never stuck it where I couldn't get it out. Oh I have spun the wheels plenty but never had to have a tow. Of course, there are places I wouldn't try to take it but just have use common sense. Besides, I have a 4 wheeler for getting the deer out.
  13. Are they both the same type motor? 6 holes or 4 holes?
  14. 2011 Cadillac STS V6 est. 19 mpg. Once you drive a Cadillac you will always drive a Cadillac.
  15. Welcome Gerald, That is a very nice Comanche. I have a 1989 Pioneer that is stock also. Drive it nearly every day and it has over 225,000 miles on it.
  16. I did the same thing several years ago and I am not happy with the Dell or windows 10. Not sure what other options where are.
  17. Oldest is my MJ 32, newest 2015. Average 19.5. But that really doesn't tell the story does it. At age 79 I probably want be buying another new car. I'll just drive them intil the wheels fall off.
  18. My truck was doing that and I thought it might be the tps, so I replaced and it was worse. Tried to adjust using cruisers method but had a hard time getting readings. So, I put the old tps back on using the old method of matching the markings from where it was set. It's better but still stumbles after idling for a while. I have since installed a REM and it registers 13 @ idle which is low. I need to adjust it up to 18.
  19. Military version of the B-737 used by most airlines.

    ouch...

I think it is probably time to consult a Doctor.
  21. Aluminum recovery tank from Mac's Radiator Shop and a new radiator from NAPA. There is nothing like the good old Georgia summer heat. I replaced thermostats' and those mickey mouse plastic recovery tanks almost every summer until I finally replaced the tank and radiator that was years ago.
