No surprise, the Railroads have been deemed an essential business. My work there really has not changed. Most of the time I’m off on my own doing my own engineering thing anyway (inspection, surveying, CAD work, etc) Big item to note is that while some of the businesses we ship for are negatively affected by it, others are affected positively. I can’t say much more than this publicly, but I can verify that there ARE good things coming from this.

Sorry to hear this! The current state of affairs sure has EVERYTHING messed up. Don’t loose sight of what matters most, I’m sure that your work ethic will have made a lasting impression. I’ll bet that they didn’t let you (and others) go without a heavy heart. Chin up!

1-1/2 hours from me, just northwest of Milwaukee... Wow, what a price tag. I’d rather road trip to New Mexico and get a rust free entire Jeep, no work necessary that way!

For the record - Rear bumper on this one is toast. It is bent up and all of the structure in the center of the bumper is rusted away. Might be worth while to pull the end caps (probably cut the bumper to free them and try to surgically separate them from the bumper pieces at home in a vice)

I stopped by a yard close to me yesterday for some parts, walked over by the crushed cars and I was quite impressed by the wall of cars they have stacked up there. 5-7 cars high and it is easily 5-7 acres of the 40. Found a bunch of ZJs and XJs in the stack, took this photo to share. Nope, there is no way I’m going to climb up and get the badges off of the back of that XJ when I go back next...well, maybe...

Some better views of the truck. The silver SUV that was beside it in Feb has been moved now. As you can see, it’s very muddy there now. I was at the yard yesterday. I pulled the 2.5 coolant bottle, the washer reservoir and the intake rubber boot. Those items topped off my 5 gal bucket so I stopped there. I plan to go back and keep going on the 2.5L specific parts... also I’m going to get the entire blue interior. I talked with the yard owner, says the truck is safe from the crusher as long as he is around. He’s only crushing 2010 and newer now...

I recently bought some parts from this truck online. Truck is at Marsh Auto Parts, Inc in Siler City NC. No idea if it was parted out or if it's remains still exist...

Also, WHY does he want a J-Truck? Lots of other large trucks out there of the same size and much better aftermarket support. Now finding a $1,200 rust free Truck from any of the Big 3 that is 25-35 years old, that is a good possibility, especially if you have the ability to source from other salt free climates.

Super nice truck right here. Not many worth the 5 figure range, but this one IMHO is. Has this VIN been registered here on CC yet?

The splash guards for front and rear are different widths. At least the rubber ones are. I can get a pic tomorrow morning if needed.
