    Opinions?

Plus wear ball joints a lot quicker.
  2. Any progress yet Jake? This truck is going to be pretty cool when its finished.
  3. Sportbar, hands down black bumpers and grille or chrome?
  4. I'd have to pick water skiing. I don't like the cold. For a steak: rare, medium rare, or medium?
  5. If you have the external slave bellhousing already, you might as well install it.
  6. These are pics from my build thread. Hopefully some of them will help you out, they are the only ones that I think I have.
  7. I wish I could say that I missed that, but we're due for 79 tomorrow. My poor Comanche is still up north for now though. There have been a couple of days back in the fall that Wisconsin was warmer than it was here.
  8. With 33s, I’d run 4.10s or 4.56s. Those will still give you plenty of ability to do 70 and it will make the truck seem less like a dog.
  9. It’s 68 and sunny in Tucson, if that makes any of you feel better. Really though, this is why I left Wisconsin.
  10. I’d say cut that section out of an XJ and weld it in or include it with the sale. It can be fixed with a lot of measurements and welding.

Misc- I couldn’t find an original short bed rollbar so I bought one from an old Toyota, cut it up, added 3” tube here and there and made my own. I used frame mounts I bought from a CC member. https://comancheclub.com/topic/66508-roll-bar-refit/ Best MJ story- I love small, old 80’s trucks and I have wanted a Comanche forever but could never find one that wasn’t rusted beyond help. As a last ditch attempt I set a notification for a saved Craigslist search that ran for years and on a random Friday afternoon a few years ago I got a hit that was only 30 minutes from my house on a Comanche I had never seen around. (In fairness I had only ever seen two others on the road). The transmission was shot but he only wanted $2500 as he was moving out of state soon. I didn’t hesitate, left work early and was the first one there. The seller said his phone had been blowing up. He started the truck and began showing me around it, but after about 2 minutes I told him to save his time… “I’m buying your truck right now mister”. I had the transmission rebuilt and adjusted the brake switch that controls the torque converter (which may have been what burnt up the transmission. Or it could have been the 323,000 miles on the truck) and it’s been a dream to own ever since. I constantly get comments and red light conversations when I drive it, I’ve caught people taking its photo when it’s parked and in traffic…and I live in a town full of exotic Lamborghinis and Ferraris. CC is Awesome! Why? - first off, it’s the only dedicated Comanche forum. It’s not a watered down sub forum on another Jeep site and therefore it’s overflowing with knowledgeable Comanche owners who are there solely for sharing their Comanches and their first hand info with other Comanche owners. Info that is very specific to Comanches. I have owned 12 other Jeeps, mostly SWB; everything from MB, CJ, YJ, XJ, TJ and JK but this is my first MJ. Where else would I go to learn about melted electrical connectors, the need to reground everything, how to save time by not replacing the fuel pump with anything but an OEM pump, where to find parts, as well as seeing and reading about so many cool surviving Comanches all throughout America? Plus there’s a lot of very cool and funny characters on here! Beautiful truck, Scotty! Thanks for the submission and excellent pictures! Fun fact, when I was building my truck, which was originally white, I wanted to do this same color and stripe combination. It looks great!
  12. My truck was a cigarette lighter delete truck. Odd since it’s a 4.0 with 4x4.
  13. I sold an internal slave AX-15 for $250. That’s all that I think it is worth if it is just the transmission without the transfer case.

    WTB Cab Corners

    @Pete M might have some. Or @Kkilmer87
  15. I sold one that worked just fine for $250 without the transfer case. It was also internal slave. It depends on how long you want to sit on it. There are a variety of factors. Internal or external slave? 2wd or 4x4? An external slave 4x4 one I would probably list at $500. Anything else would be $250 for me. But when I list stuff, I want it gone.
  16. I believe my brother's parts J10 has a T18 in it. Just thought I'd let you know in case you have any MN trips planned anytime soon.
  17. Clutch master cylinder for the AX15.
  18. I wouldn’t be surprised if mine was. It had an aftermarket radio when I got it and some cobbled speaker box behind the seat. I don’t even know if I have the speaker brackets in the b pillars. I really should put a working sound system in it though.
  19. Perfect. Thank you, I shall add that to my list. I’ll send you a pm about the fan too.
  20. Send @Pete M a message. Here’s the thread for all of the club products. https://comancheclub.com/topic/1497-comanche-club-swag-stickers-coozies-posters-plus-free-magnets/#comments
  21. I had read about that. My radiator is larger than stock, so I don’t think that it would clear.
  22. I’m not really looking for one quite yet, but if a deal came along I’d interested if you want to sell it.
