    Thanks guys

I agree, this place is great! I’m on a few other forums, none of them hold a candle to CC.
  2. "Do it for Africa"
  3. That’s a big truck then!
  4. What color was it? I've heard of a few, but only a couple that are driving.
  5. Looks like a good find!
  6. The Floyd County Museum in Iowa got all of the information when the Oliver shut down. For $25 plus shipping, you can get a packed with the build card, which is basically the build sheet, a explanation of the build card, an options sheet, and a certificate of ownership with the model, serial number, engine number, build date, ship date, and where it was shipped to for each tractor.
  7. Congratulations! Time to add an XJ to haul everyone
  8. One thing to note with the Liberty is that it is a little bit wider than an XJ rear. It actually makes the rear tires fit the width of the bedside.
  9. For good or heading back to the island in the future? That cluster will look great! Thank you for not just swapping to a digital screen. This will look so much more correct in the truck.
  10. You could just cut them off of the D35, but a lot of companies make new leaf spring mounts. I would buy new spring mounts personally.
  11. For the most part, it should just be the spring mounts and shock mounts that need changing. The nice thing about the Liberty axles is that they could be had with 4.10 gears. You would be time and money ahead changing the mounts on a 8.25 with 4.10s as opposed to buying a D44 and getting it regeared.
  12. Are you dead set on it being a D44 for originality? Otherwise, a C8.25 from an XJ or KJ would be a good option.
  13. I agree completely, it would be a blast to have a hardcore, dedicated wheeling vehicle. You bring up a good point with the tow vehicle and trailer, that’s even more stuff to maintain. The other problem with a wheeler is the fact it’s probably going to spend a good portion of time needing repairs between rides. I’ve never done any of the crawling in AZ or Colorado, all of my wheeling has been back in WI, so maybe my logic is flawed, but I haven’t seen an obstacle that hasn’t been able to be conquered by a vehicle on 33s-35s. I know you have a lot larger rocks by you though.
  14. Looks great! I really like the wheel choice with the graphics.
  15. Alright, I may be one who encourages bad ideas, but here are my thoughts on the matter. You drive a CJ on 33s(?) with a 4.0, a stick, and rock sliders. You've even said its not a super nice tub. Seems to me like you do not need a dedicated wheeler, but maybe its worth adding lockers to your CJ and using that? Personally, I have more fun going up obstacles in vehicles that people don't think are capable enough to go up that obstacle. Now your CJ wouldn't be able to do some of the super hard trails that are in these pics, but how often do these guys wheel on those trails? I don't think its worth building a dedicated wheeler to only go a few times a year.
  16. Check out @Comanche SS’s pre runner build. He has those fenders and bedsides you want to run I believe.
  17. Saw these super neat photos from 86 in the factory where my car was built. If these are different cars, there’s a slight chance that the first one is mine. The second one has vinyl interior, so I know that one isn’t mine. I’ve also included a pic of a nice car. Mine desperately needs paint.
  18. It really is a surprise that they’re different.
  19. I just looked at a pic of my car. My front bumper has the piece you need and all my other pieces are missing. Looks like we’ve got a little work to do before the end of March.

Definitely a metric ton badge, so it should have a D44. That said, after nearly 330,00 miles and 34 years, the only way to check for sure would be to crawl under it and inspect.
  21. That will be the story of your life now that you’re an Eagle owner

Looks like you did it correctly. In the coming days, one of the guys that works at a dealership will get the build sheet for you.
