Glad to hear that the shake is gone. As they say, if it were always fun and easy, everybody would be doing it.

Did you try a come along like someone else suggested? Ratchet straps would work too. As long as you pull out a stack of shims equal in thickness to the difference in length between the control arms, theoretically it will be alright. But if you're doing this to fix your front end shake, it is highly unlikely that it will do so if you remove the shims.

How much longer. When you removed the stock lower control am, the axle would've moved backwards causing this problem. Any competent alignment shop should be able to accommodate the longer arms just fine.

Those shims are your caster adjustment. Not having enough caster is a surefire way to end up with death wobble.

Fall would work better for me. I will be pushing it to even have my MJ here in the springtime. I like the idea of this possibly becoming an annual thing.

I wouldn't drill anything larger, especially the mounts on the truck.

They all probably come from the same crappy factory overseas. Moog is likely your best bet, but don’t hold your breath. Anymore it seems most direct replacement parts aren’t that and require modifications to fit.

These are the Detroit axle ones?

Make sure your MJ has an AX-15 first. 88s didn’t get them from the factory.

Perfect! I’m only on 31s with an LSD rear in my MJ, but I’m willing to use rock sliders a little bit. If we end up doing more aggressive trails, I’d be just as happy parking my truck and jumping in with someone else too.

ITS BEEN FOUND!!! The guy my dad sold it to still has it. It doesn’t sound like he’s ready to sell it, but my dad is the first to know should that ever change. This car is my Dad’s equivalent to my MJ, except cooler to be honest. This was the car he built in high school. It’s the car all of his friends remember and the one he most regrets selling. This car is probably the biggest reason why my MJ and Eagle are forever cars for me.

I'm not sure if I can do Spring 2027 for sure, but any of the other times work for me. I'd prefer mild stuff, but I should have a set of rock sliders by then and I won't be afraid to use them. Anyways, fill out the poll if you're interested so we can come up with a rough number of CC folks. List of trails we have expressed interest in (likely to become some sort of itinerary as we get closer): Rimrocker Trail (Montrose, CO to Moab, UT). We would have to hit this either before or after Moab. https://rimrockertrail.org/ Fins N Things This is a good trail for people new to Moab. Lots of slickrock and some fun hills. Not too difficult for a vehicle close to stock. There is a day use/week use fee of like $10 to access this trail. Hell's Revenge A favorite trail for many. It has some optional obstacles to challenge more built rigs. Lots of optional lines lets you do the easy route while being challenging for more built rigs. An XJ on 32s and 3-4" lift has zero trouble making it on some of the harder lines. Hell's gate is intimidating but not technically challenging. Same day/week use fee as Fins. Poison Spider A difficult trail for more built rigs. But you get to a scenic overlook at the top of the bluffs west of town that is pretty cool. Top Of The World A rough trail and you need to be built a little. But the overlook is pretty stunning. Google top of the world and you can see the pictures people take. It's a bit of a drive to get there but worth it. Chicken corners Easy trail with scenic views. There's a cool overlook that is good for a photo shoot. Onion Creek This one winds through a valley with high walls. Many water crossings. It's a fun trail. Gemini Bridges An easier trail that has scenic stops at natural rock bridges.
