Neat. My 84 is missing what is a uncommon version of the Jeep nameplate for the rear. But a good score for sure with a 21 slot still intact and not taken!
-
Did it have any 'Jeep' badging on the rear?
-
Neat! The original one. Those don't appear in the catalog and Chrysler shows them as the same lamp they used on the XJ's with the spare tire carrier. My MJ didn't come with a drivers side mirror so that was common practice when AMC owned Jeep. I mean the Jeeps were small enough to only really need two mirrors.
-
Yeah they really do and that's why I didn't post build sheets when I first started.

Fun!

There should be a three prong relay by the kick panel that is white in color. Check that, for whatever reason those go bad on me frequently.

I have the brackets but no hardware or hooks. I know a dealer who still has both hooks.
-
Lol, you and me both. Cept I got a few years over ya.

Looks like a CR Lawrence window. Give them a shot and see if they have any parts.

Makes sense, to me solder work seems to take longer but I am not well versed in it at all.
-
Neat but a bit lengthy for a simple fix. I have restored three of these buggers and I have soaked them in a 50/50 mix of vinegar and water so no harm comes to the plastic and metal, just the rust and they have worked every time with no issues what so ever. Small wire brush for cleaning pipes also helps with the hole the screw goes through to mount to the body.

I actually watch his show on youtube. Pretty educational on some cars I knew nothing about.

Change Pedal spacing?
eaglescout526 replied to Liketosmash's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I had a problem like this before where I would find my foot too close to the gas pedal while holding down the brake pedal. Turns out that my brakes were getting worse which called for the longer travel of the brake pedal. I would check your pads and shoes and see if they need replaced before hacking up stuff you can't get anymore. -

No problem at all! Let us know what you see. -
I have one non folding remote control(non electric) mirror. It needs to be painted or something as the plastic is heavily oxidized.

Better be to me in person on a platinum platter if I'm gonna pay that much to have it shipped. Better be made out of gold too.
-
Yeah ill take on the voodoo of cruise control.
-
No actually. It was listed as AMC Jeep Renault cruise control but I was just searching under AMC Jeep and a few things came up that normally wouldn't pop up and that was one of them.
-
Lol I couldn't believe it when I stumbled upon it too!

So I went out today and helped @AMC86Kid with installing his tranny and t-case, wasn't too bad or hard of a job and we all know I'm good at dropping and installing a transmission lol. Anyways I went out to help him and getting the tranny in was pretty easy. Took a couple times and some wooden boards as shims to get the trans to mate with the engine, what I did like about his set up was you could sit on your bum he had the truck up high which was nice and made moving the trans to line it up easy. Ok that's the trans. T-case was a whole new level of fun. Per the FSM and anywhere really, you install the trans and t-case as a unit. I agreed with him on why he had the two divorced, really was easy. But what gets me is theres soooo many damn linkages to the 207 that I told myself, yeahhhhh no, adding 4 wheel drive looks daunting. Maybe I'm talking crazy after a long afternoon of helping him but I did indeed have fun. His MJ is gonna look and be really fun when he is done. As for the turn signals, yeah I stuffed some aluminum foil onto a fuse years ago and never addressed the issue as repairing the terminals is a daunting task but I now have to address it as the fuses are getting hot and partially melting, kinda scary. Evidently I can miss a lot in eight hours too.

Serpentine Belt suddenly loose.

There are not any gaskets. Perhaps the pump wiggled free just enough to cause such an issue. -
