So I got the tires on. Completely forgot to take pics but it’s getting damn hot outside now. But I got the keys today and opened up the trunk and found some goodies inside such as three hub caps/wheel covers, books about the car, and a few other pieces and such. Learned that is has power assisted brakes which is different than the power brakes we are used to which requires vacuum. Main goal is to get the car moved and running and driving and hopefully not spend too much to achieve that. Also this was in the trunk and should help me greatly: An original FSM. So I’ll able to decode the VIN and give y’all the specs. It looks like the PO circled what the car has but I’m gonna take that with a grain of salt and wait.

I have no clue if it is available as NOS. I lost my dealer access back in early April. But if I remember correctly, they weren't available as NOS.

If you have the deluxe wiper package(intermittent wipers) the control box for that will be directly under the steering column(more or less around there) velcroed to the lower dash panel. Box is no bigger than the palm of your hand. Disconnect it and the plug the two wires together and test your wipers then.

That's the one XJ I want to have the build sheet for and the one at the OFM in Astoria has an 87 XJ that is almost a faithful recreation of the films Cherokee.

It is. The XJ in the film is an 84 and my girl loves the goonies. Since the XJ is in WA, she got to name this one.

Which style? Low profile? Tow? Folding or non? Manual, remote or power? I only have a folding manual(not cracked) but trying to help ya out if you need specific style mirror and others can chime in on which one you need.

Those Hella 550's were nice when I had them, same with the 450's I had, course I ran into the same issue you have with the lights being too big and hitting the grille.

Finally decided to sit down and start a build thread on Chunk. A carbed 2.5Litre with a 2-barrel carb that the previous owner put on over the factory single barrel which the PO kept. Current plans are to actually keep this one. What currently needs to be done is all the lighting needs to be added like the courtesy and the ash tray and cigar lighter lamp. A clock, spare tire carrier, marchal lenses, nameplates, wagoneer tails and I think a few other things I'm missing are to be added to him. Also gotta fix that broken window, uggh. I will make sure when I get to the XJ to take better pics but all in all its a nice surviving first model year XJ. There are a few other cosmetic things that will have to be done but I have plans to leave this one the way it is minus the upgrades.

Wellllll….Long story short this is a 1960 Ford Thunderbird with I think is a 429ci w/3speed auto trans, A/C, power steering and power brakes. I got it from a friend of mines family who inherited the car, they had plans for it but with their son(my friend) being in the military, they won't be able to do anything to the car. So they asked if I wanted it and who was I to say no, hell I even got the parental approval on this one! So here's some pics, I will get more the next time I am at the car. She needs a little work but 95% of it is there. Interior is in great shape and its rust free. Currently have new tires awaiting to go on the car. Sadly the drivers side window is broke and so is the windshield and what looks like the power window switches in the console. Oh and at some point in its life it was in an accident as the front end had been replaced but only lead bondo is present so it was done forever ago. This car I plan to take my time with and just see where it goes but I know I'm gonna want to drive it that's for sure.

Blame Chrysler. Minuit and I spent about a day doing PM's on finding out who supplies Chrysler with their terminals and kits. I couldn't even find anything in the electrical connecter catalog.

That depends. My truck came with a single horn on the passenger side. Not every truck was built with dual note horns but everyone adds two horns to their trucks because the wiring is there for them.

Depends. How bad is the needle bounce? The senders have a float design that is prone to bouncing when the fuel moves, thus your needle movement. The newer cars have a float that is designed to go with the waves and movement of the fuel in the tank. So you will see your needle move around as you drive.
