  1. Oh yeah. That’s the beauty and fun with the 2.5L. I almost wonder if upgrading the ECU to an 87-90 will benefit an 86 set up. If you can find a 2.5L TBI book, will save you a headache and a half.
  2. Following. I’m pretty knowledge able about the little mighty 2.5L. Your build sheet indicated it was Throttle Body Injection unless the previous owner switched it to a carb(don’t know why, it’s garbage and I have the carbed version that will be upgraded to TBI) but those engines are pretty reliable and easy to work on. When you get it back in your hands I will be more than happy to help keep that engine ticking.
  3. Probably a resistor or something. I have a clock torn apart and one of the resistors is bad.
  4. Should have that buddy get to reproducing those for us.
  5. Tell you what. If you find one and send it to me, we can talk shop about it. I told the other member $100. That’s me pulling the console, ordering cup holder, labor and materials like paint and such to make it. Wasn’t originally going to make a whole bunch but I can do it as a side gig.
  6. No problem. I will be making another one soon for another member and will say it takes a lot of time, plans and measurements to get it right.
  7. Lots of patience lol. What I did was take out the main console floor and used that plastic, used a C clamp to hold the two pieces together and kinda traced a cut along the open cubby and then once it was in a decent shape I JB welded the two together and waited to do more trimming of that plate to make it look uniform.

  9. I do not have an 89 parts catalog. @fiatslug87 will be able to help out with that.
  10. Same reason it was designed for.
  11. After having it installed for a few days and actually diving with it today, it is quite nice to have actually. Strongly recommend it on broken down full consoles though.

  14. The ground tip in the front sockets if still the original plastic ones will be rusted or possibly not there at all. It is advised to upgrade to the newer XJ style sockets for longevity and better contact.
  15. Good luck with HOrnbrod responding.
  16. So there are no NOS ones around for the protector. Part number is J5463803. Or if you’re versed in AMC part numbers, just drop the J. It can be found on CJs up to the YJ in ‘95
  17. I’ve been hooked on these two lately. A ‘57 classic And a BBC version of a song from a famous ‘64 album I should post more songs from my record collection that I enjoy.
  18. I can’t get CC to pull up on my work computer so I can’t copy paste the build sheet.
  19. Sure. Brass wire brush to the cluster connector if they are corroded. Also wouldn’t hurt to the give the engine a bath if there’s some resistance going on.
  20. Cylinder hone. Best way to clean those up. Put some oil down those pistons just in case if it has a hard time moving.
  21. I thought so. Let me take a gander at the catalog today.
  22. I might have to take you up on that. I will see if I can get a quote from the company I have been researching and see what they have to say.
