Fake Wood Grain Cluster Trim Restoration
eaglescout526 replied to AdroitKirby's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I may or may not have one of these bezels as a spare. -
Not a clue. I don’t see many older GM vehicles to explore and find out what they have cause they usually end up scrapped or down in Mexico. Also go to sleep.
-
Lol close but 87 is that weird middle year where they were changing over stuff to the newer 88 standards.
-
I will get a pic this evening. It’s over on the passenger side tucked behind the battery. But I imagine by the 87 model year the connector for the headlamps changed.

DIY window and door lock harness
eaglescout526 replied to ghetdjc320's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Weather pack should be just as good if not better than the metri-packs. Now the lock solenoid is its own connector and I’m not sure if that connector is around or not but it might be. I haven’t had to look for that one specifically. -
DIY window and door lock harness
eaglescout526 replied to ghetdjc320's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
For having down just power locks, all I can say is, get a enough length of wire, set up the system outside of the truck to ensure you have it all wired right and I recommend OEM connectors but you can choose which ever you like. -
I saw a guy use some sort of powder once on a ground nest and it made them spaz out from the poison. He then later at night went and drowned the nest and put a screen over the hole just so that way none came out.

Another random electrical problem
eaglescout526 replied to rsmecham's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Theres a 7.5 amp fuse on the block that believe it or not runs the power from the switch on the trans to the reverse lamps. I am pretty sure that fuse is in the "Trans" slot. Also the switch on the trans could be bad or stuck. -

Sounds like you might want to do some ground cleaning/upgrades. Also that fuse does control the lamps as well. And if you havent, the front headlamp harness upgrade is a must. -
Sounds good! I looked in the digital catalog and got nothing.
-
Do the rims or caps have a part number anywhere?
-
Hmmmm I can do some digging on the older Chrysler cars and see. Very interesting choice by them.
-
Gotta see that engine bay but the valve cover is always one for me, the radiator if original is another. AC stuff is a must for some. I know @carolinajeepman is after AC stuff to get his done.
-
Of course! I love me some 2.5L parts.
-
Still absolutely pretty cool. Course I guess you could just add in your own screen to the grill these days. But it is better to have an OEM part.
-
Thats pretty awesome. Wonder why no one makes those.
-
I have both styles of that cover in the same color Anti chaff? Where at the grill?

What’s wrong with the body?

I know. Just testing something here.

That’s pretty awesome! The one I have still has the original dealer sticker on it and the company still exits at the address on the sticker! -

Yeah it’s a marvelous machine I will say. My great grand mother had it since new according to my grandmother. It’s enjoyable to use oddly enough. -

All but one set of florescent lamps have been converted to LED. Found out that one of the garage ballasts leaked pretty damn badly and the other one was starting to fail. Glad I changed them out. And how many of you can say you had to do repairs/fixes to a 50+ year old Kirby vacuum? Had to change out the dual speed switch on mine after the originals 54 year run gave up on the floor setting but I now can finally use the hose again after the switch being stuck on the floor speed.
