  1. So I took a wire from the JY harness. Terminal and all and I put it in the harness installed on my truck to where the fog lamp switch is wired up. I then followed instruction HOrnbrod posted many years ago and simply got it all installed from there. The headlamp harness connector does come apart to where you can add or subtract wires from it. This is what I used and followed it to a T
  2. I did this and found it to be painless. Last I remember the Renix harness uses a light green with tracer wire for the fog lamp switch. I just simply removed one of the wires, out it in the factory harness and ran that wire that was just added to the fog lamp relay. Thats without really molesting anything and real plug n play.

  5. That thing is worth every damn penny and I love mine.
  6. What a brain teaser.
  7. Somewhere but not entirely conclusive results is reports saying Renix runs better with the higher ethanol gas. I can believe that as it would probably pulse less gas into the chambers but who knows for sure. Otherwise Renix will run fine with the higher stuff. Hell you could probably feed it Russian vodka and it wouldn’t know(please don’t do that).
  8. Oh yeah that’s right. I need to get back into doing that.
  9. 86 was the only year the MJ got it. Finding one that has it or had it is a challenge on its own. Let’s just say you’ll have a better chance of finding a early XJ than the Diesel engine.
  10. No problem! Look forward to seeing the results!
  11. Post some pics and I mean good pics and we can all give you an opinion as to what can happen to it. From the sounds of it, you’d be better off finding an XJ for scrap metal parts and save the 86 and make it look nice for the next person.
  12. I highly recommend having your hose made new by the local guys. The old AC stuff isn’t supported much for us.
  13. Under the drivers side of the dash. Poke your head under the column and look to your left and you’ll see a silver ECU box that should say Renix on it.
  14. I found a pic of when the ospreys were doing fly bys at my parents.
  15. That’s a miracle! And it’s a fantastic one to have too!
  16. It’s all cruise control related. That’s the clutch switch so if you had a manual MJ there would be a plunger switch above the clutch pedal to momentarily cut power to the cruise control system. It’s a pretty neat system but tough to get working at times.
  17. That’s it!! Thank you Mike!!
  18. Anyone have this? I swear someone somewhere either posted it or sent it to me privately and I can’t find it for the life of me. Anyone recall such?
  19. I can get behind that. Maybe a thin dual pin stripe from front to PIONEER might be kinda cool.
  20. They go to the brake switch. So if something happens to the brake switch and causes too much draw, it will blow the fuse to protect the regulator.
  21. Hopefully indeed. I didn’t get a chance to call today to see if they have it.
  22. I am! I really want a new one for my 2.5L and a few extras.
  23. I have three actually. All de-rusted and ready to go. I was gonna have them powder coated.
  24. Yeah…don’t remind me lol. 24 ain’t so bad.
  25. I do like watching this truck. It’s stock while having tasteful mods done. Shoot I think I was 19 when I got little red. Holy schnikes, where does the time go?
