I picked up a basket case 87 Comanche to work on with my 9 year old son. It was apparently a 4 banger/5 speed 2wd originally. Someone dropped in a 4.0L/AW4, but nothing was ever hooked up. I picked up an ‘01 XJ with a 4.0L/AW4/NP232 powertrain to transform it into a 4wd. My Son, Blaze’s first purchase for it was a set of Moab wheels with 285’s for $50! I myself have a ‘98 TJ and an ‘81 CJ-5. We also just picked up a ‘78 J20 with a flat deck to build with my ) year old son. We live just outside Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
The MJ needs a little love on the cab corners and under the taillights and a little floorboard work on the drivers side, but otherwise is quite solid.
