Vacuum connector to throttle body
eaglescout526 replied to Cali Steve's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I am not seeing it as a serviceable component sadly. No new harnesses are out there either. So probably some RTV may not be a bad idea for getting the block to seal right. Or the block can be done away and just straight pipe. I sadly don't have an 86 and have only worked with 3 86 2.5Ls in my life. It must also be a sought after vac line as when I was in Prescott Valley last weekend I found a 4 door 86 that didnt have any lines but just the manifold. Damn I need to go back to that yard. -
Chunk, A 1984 XJ
eaglescout526 replied to eaglescout526's topic in Member Projects: Other Cool Stuff
Got the cluster assembled, havent test anything yet, gonna have to take the speedo out and match the miles on Chunk. Also took Chunk right to the corner to get half a tank of gas so I can start him up every once in a while. And yesterday I took a pic of both marchals assembled and hopefully aligned right. Now I need to start doing things. Ill have to update the homestead with the new look of the garage. -
Vacuum connector to throttle body
eaglescout526 replied to Cali Steve's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It is. It’s an 86 so it’s a very very odd duck. Ive never looked into that part as the later years go to just single hoses but I can see if that’s something that was available. -

Yeah it definitely is my oddest haul I’ve gotten. I forgot what I had ordered in the beginning as most of these parts ordered were based on how cheap they were. I really only needed two parts from this order but I’ve since hung on to a few.

Lol. I’ll go to lengths to make sure y’all get your OEM parts. -
Aaaaaand I give you, my haul! To start, the door panels I got, I absolutely refused to take out of the AMC boxes. I will let the new owner do that when they receive them and they will post them here. I got to keep one which is awesome! These are power door/wiper relays Rear latch cargo lamp switches, column tilt lever, cargo cover hardware, fog lamp bulbs and one ball bolt for the load sensing valve. Carbed 4cyl battery cables, 4.0L stator, campaign connectors, roof rack adjusters, hardware and tow hook bolts

Yes yes yes. I am working on this right now. Just got back from the store and reassembled an instrument cluster.

'91 Ignition Cylinder

No keys left but the ignition cylinder that Minuit provided comes with two new coded keys for the cylinder. Course that may not help with your doors. -
Order is here. We shall see the goodies this afternoon

'91 Ignition Cylinder
eaglescout526 replied to acfortier's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
So I see there’s 12 of the number Minuit provided. Then the number supersedes to a 5161055AA which I can order from vintage. I like how Chrysler discontinued the HO cylinder sooner than the AMC one. They just discontinued the AMC cylinders this year. HO was 2017 -

If I can still order a Renix ignition cylinder, I am willing to bet there’s Chrysler ones out there. -
What Fiat said. Could always do one original and one modded.

Chunk, A 1984 XJ
eaglescout526 replied to eaglescout526's topic in Member Projects: Other Cool Stuff
Still waiting on the NOS bulbs for the Marchals. While I’m waiting my girlfriend and I went up to Prescott for the weekend and we hit a junkyard on the way home yesterday. So I went in thanks to @88mjsally for the lead. The yard has 3 85 XJs and one 86. Two of which were 2.5Ls but I couldn’t get much from them due to lack of proper tools and the floor boards being covered in rodent $#!&. Which sucked. But I snagged what I could that was easy and I managed to get a full cluster of the older style. Now I’m doing a complete resto on it and so far so good. The contact sheet is in great shape! But I discovered this: There’s a blue film behind the gauges and I’m very intrigued by it. So far most the gauges work and I assume the lights do too. The cluster housing has the part number sticker and says made in USA on it which kinda faded away after washing away the layers of dirt on the cluster. I also managed to snag some turbine hub caps, remote control honey mirror bezels, honey visor mirror assembly and some other goodies as well. Hopefully this cluster pans out with the resto. -
I’m willing to bet it’s Helvetica don't which is what the Jeep logo still is.

Thanks Pete!! Not that I don't support or like Trump, but I like keeping politics to a minimum in my life. Makes less of a mess. -
