  1. Good to know. I really want to get out to Moab here soon. Been far to long and since it's only 3 hours for me now excuses are running thin.
  2. Just a suggestion if you haven't, check out NAXJA and the Colorado chapter. They do a lot of trail runs. Good dudes too. I'd love to get my MJ back out. It's been in Denver since I've moved up the hill. Hoping here in the next few weeks I'll get it up here. Need to sell the wife's KJ though to make room.
  3. Man can't say I have just one but I could name my top ten. These probably spend the most time on my turntable. Most are punk albums, because well I love punk. No particular order Dag nasty- Circles Screeching Weasel- Wiggle Lillingtons- $h^t out of luck Teenage bottle rocket -Total Sludgeworth- Losers of the year Queers- Love songs for the retarded Ramones- Self titled Vindictives- May moods of the Vindictives Youth Brigade- sound & fury Zero Boys-Viscous Circle
  4. Been rocking some ska.... Mustard plug, skankin pickle, operation ivy, mad caddies, to name a few.
  5. Yep a BA is 21 as well. I guess short answer is it will be easiest to get a tranny and tcase together or at least form the same years.
  6. True and depending on which tranny will dictate the rest. AX15 and aw4 90+ 23 spline. AX5 and pre 90 aw4 21 spline.
  7. You could also source a AX-15 for a YJ or TJ IIRC. Might be a little easier to find those. You can do a AW4 swap. It's the auto from the XJ's awesome all round tranny. Tranny you need pre 95 IIRC. You can also do a NV3500 but it's not cheap. T case won't matter on years really.
  8. On one of my K5's I was working on a few years ago someone did that.....What a mess. Never saw something so poorly done. Seriously would have just been better leaving it rusted out. I ended up abandoning it from a restoration stand point because I found a super clean 74 cheap. I was going to make it a truggy but couldn't justify 2 K5's and my other car.
  9. Howdy, if you only want to make it 4wd and don't care about swapping in OBDII get axles form a 97-99 XJ. Auto will have 3.55's, manual will have 3.07's and if you can find a 2.5l it should have 4.10's You'll get a non CAD HP dana 30 and chrysler 8.25 with 29 spline; both are great axles. Tcase will be personal preference if you want to search for a 242 with PT 4wd or just a 231. A 242 is nice for winter driving but not needed. Tranny will be based on what you have either auto or manny. if you have a manny might be worth it to search for a AX15 if it's a auto aw4 up to 95 should be fairly straight forward IIRC.
  10. A 96 swap is going to be tough. It was a crossover year so everything is going to be a mess. What might be a 96 for one thing is a 97 for another maybe 95 another time.
  11. Yep, love me some flat, black discs! I started collecting vinyl about 15 years ago. I'm huge into punk (not Blink 182, offspring, Greenday BS) and most of the albums where only published on vinyl and super limited numbers, I have a few that are 1 of 100 pressings. I'm kind of pissed vinyl made a come back because it's a fortune now. I never bought it as an investment, just simply wanted to have the REAL recording of music other than rely on youtube. Now I've started to buy classic rock albums, really don't care if they are original pressing just want to listen to them. I enjoy the ritual of laying down vinyl and listening to a full album. Been totally diggin on Cosmos factory from CCR lately. I got one of these https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/665940-REG/Audio_Technica_AT_LP60_AT_LP60_Fully_Automatic_Belt_Drive.html?ap=y&smp=y&lsft=BI%3A514&gclid=CjwKCAjw67XpBRBqEiwA5RCocUirr20ATA8trudx14z459z-CzkKa6C5fP66aESwH4ssilQ5tARaHBoCYWQQAvD_BwE Hook it up to my little computer speakers and it's perfect.
  12. Son of a bit......well that sucks.
  13. Since you're on lpg shouldn't need it. If I'm visualizing it correctly there is just a manifold for the lpg on the intake correct?
  14. Backspacing really will just depend on the style you are looking for and what size tire you are going to be running. 3-4" is most times a decent amount for a little more aggressive look. Stock should be 5.25 on 15x7 Lift is a loaded question. What's your budget? What are you building it for?
  15. Yeah it kind of does. I know I could have just done the alignment myself as toe doesn't require a lot but I just didn't have the want to. Way to many side projects and the wife is about to beat me with a stick if I work on the jeeps this weekend. It's been driving a lot better since the alignment. So I'll take that as a win, wife happy + jeep happy= me not fearing for my life
  16. No I was looking into it and toe is all that can be adjusted I don't have the cam bolts like the xj/mjs. If I didnt just replace all of the CA with new stock ones I would go adjustable. Eventually I may throw the hp44 and 9" I have in it and go longarms. But thats going to be after the MJ is done......so like never.
  17. Ok kind of makes sense. I'm tracking roughly but still trying to wrap my head around it. All they can adjust is toe. WJs do not have anything they can adjust. It's not causing any crazy issue and I haven't noticed any abnormal tire wear. Thanks for the info!
  18. Can you elaborate? Not challenging just wondering.
  19. All new isolators 3" lift. I did have to reweld the coil perches but those where not off enough to create any camber issues.
  20. Not for the MJ but figured it would be worth the ask. I took my WJ to get an alignment the other day and the camber is off. They did check the ball joints are there was no excessive play or slop in them. Wheel bearings are fine as well. Guy mentioned the axle housing might be bent but I find that odd as it has never been in an accident and prior to me doubtful it was ever wheeled hard enought for that to happen. Any other thoughts or ideas?
  21. So I took the WJ to get an alignment yesterday. They mentioned that there was excessive camber. I had noticed it a little before and just thought it might be my eyes deceiving me. The ball joints are fine, no play in the wheel bearings either. So next thought was a bent axle housing, but the jeep was never in an accident let alone wheeled. Any thoughts on this? Here's the alignment report, my caster kind of sucks
  22. No, I think it was a 2010 or something in that range. First engine went at about 50k other went about 120k. I know subis are all over CO but I never been in one and been like yes....other than maybe a WRX but everyone japs them out and they sound like sh^t. Yeah last thing I need is to get the wife a hemi....slower the better for her. Our friends did have a newer grand and is was plagued with electrical issues. They bought it brand new and ended up trading it in after 2 years. Good to know. One of my buddies had a Kia back in the day. he was as mechanically inclined as a gerbil and never had an issue with it.

    SHOCKWAVE

Sweet, last time I went to a jet car show at Bandimere it was amazing.
  24. I was also looking at the Hyundai Sante fe and Tuscon. Those I can get 2016-18 for under 20k along with low mileage. Issue is I don't know a ton about them. Only experience I had was my mom and a tuscon that she beat the hell out of and it still kept going. I figure if a car can survive my mom then it probably isn't complete garbage.
