  1. I used to run a thrush welded muffler on my XJ. Had a nice sound but on the trails the drone was annoying. Didn't notice it a lot of the highway, probably because of all the other "sounds". Most all aftermarket mufflers will drone, especially the smaller ones. If you want to eliminate the drone you can add a resonator to help. On my WJ I'll be running a super 50 with the resonator.
  2. Persoanlly, Id find a 8.25 and not bother with a d35 at all. Re weld perches in the correct spot and ditch the boat anchor of the d35 all together. Plus you can find on from a liberty and could add in some rear disk.
  3. I'd go with a silverado. Toyotas are nice but at least in CO they pull a premium. Personally I don't think they are worth it but that's just me. Can't go wrong with a 350 and everything else driveline wise is solid. They are fairly cheap for parts and easy to fix. Dodges are nice but depends on the years.
  4. Hahaha. I just lol'd. Never I have heard truer words about walmart...... I agree about asking questions here for other platforms tends to get a better response. Feel CC has a solid group of peps that know a thing or two.
  5. Your best bet might be the $#!&show of jeep forum........ IMHO that is one of the worst forums I've ever been on. Not only does the site plain suck, you get bombed by ad's and it's just not user friendly but there's a ton of dumbasses. Lot's of bad info that get's put out there.
  6. I just want to know where in CO they snagged that thing for $6500..... Everyone else has their clapped out rust buckets they want 5k for
  7. I ended up going with Crown. Cost was a bit more than Moog but a lot cheaper than napa.
  8. Has cavfab fixed there "issues"? Few NAXJA guys haven't had the best luck with them. Slow to ship, exhaust clearance issues, and a crappy bolt up system. One of the bolts contacts the fuel lines. I do see they increased their link thickness and started using JJ before it was some $#!&ty heims. I'd also consider looking at stinkyfab and ironman, they have some awesome 3/4 link kits. Will be interested to see how everything progresses.
  9. HAHAHA........yeah I'd say it's pretty damn close
  10. With tons I'd run 37s+. Up to 40s on tons and you'll be in decent shape with out breaking stuff too often. What are you planning to do suspension wise?
  11. It's a common swap with XJ's. Here's some links https://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/jeep-hardcore-tech/1363937-super-duty-axle-swap-questions.html https://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/jeep-cherokee/2031562-totm-radius-arm-suspension.html https://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1141547
  12. Any story behind why? Just checking out napa. For the price might as well go blingy adjustable. Roughly $470ish for all new fronts and rear lower. I priced moogs out on RA and was about $210ish.
  13. Not for the MJ but since this is a decent upgrade for them I want to ask. What are the best stock WJ control arms? Reason I'm asking is I'm building up my WJ and need to replace them. I've always had good luck with Moog and think they make decent stuff. Fast forward to today and I'm seeing that anything with "RK" in the part number means it's lower quality. From what I can tell on Moogs website the "RK" is the only series for the WJ control arms. Thoughts?
  14. Nope no codes. It's sponatious when it goes goofy.
  15. So I was looking for the IAC and am I missing something because I can't find it. I was reading some more and it was mentioned that 07 does not have an IAC? My only thought is it might be in the throttle assembly pictured below.
  16. Long arms for sure. Budget is next. How much you want to spend? You swapping axles or keeping what you have? What size rubbers? There isnt a "best" kit but you can price together what your version of best is. Stinkyfab 3 link or ironman4x4 4 link are some awesome set ups. Coils and leafs will depend on budget. Get fancy and go deavers/alcan or Bastard pack the rear or add some 53 or 62 chevy springs. Coils Iro, clayton a other I can't remember.
  17. Why that high.......
  18. I don't know what you all think is so wrong with an aluminum housing......it's lighter duh! And a 44 is so much stronger. Being said with complete sarcasm.........
  19. I won't be able to look at it until this weekend. I'm in the mountains and shes back in Denver.
  20. Spal is just the company that makes the electric fans. They aren't cheap but they work. If your not going to fab a fan shroud..... http://www.dirtboundoffroad.com/dirtbound-fan-shroud-upgrade-10-fan.html
  21. You can "upgrade" your aux fan to the 10 bade fan on the 97+ and add in a manual override. I did that on my XJ and was a nice option on the trial. Since the aux fan kicks on at 220 or something silly it was nice to have the option to flick it on when there wasn't a lot of airflow. Personally I wouldn't delete the mechanical fan, they are insurance if your aux fan kicks the bucket. You can put the ZJ fan clutch on there but it's loud. From hanging around the NAXJA guys it's either going spal or keeping the stockish setup.
  22. Yep same key. I'll start with giving the IAC a good clean and see if that helps. Thanks for the info.
  23. My wifes 07 KJ is having an issue starting. When you start it will immediately die. Doesn't do consintently or have any bearing on being hot or cold. Was reading and thinking it could be the IAC. Wondering if anyone else might now what could be the issue?
  24. Wire wheel will scratch them. Since You're dealing with oxidization you need to give them a solid deep clean and polish. Or just say f it and paint them or leave them. If you want to clean them up it will take some time. I recommened this stuff. Pricey but works amazing. https://www.ammonyc.com/shop/ammo-plum-whee-cleaner/
  25. Brake booster and master cylinder would work, but rest no, because as stated entirely different.
