Cargo light & switch panel
ghetdjc320 replied to fiatslug87's topic in Craigslist/Marketplace/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
yep, it’s just the black covers not the switch housing. Most already have the housing in their MJs but if not, they are all readily found in the junk yards -

i was ready to put them together and ship them out the week that our island went on lock down. Just waiting for the vinyl shop to open back up to print the vinyl. I’ll probably open this up as an open source project with links to what all is needed. There is another member on here making other repro parts and I was going to see if he can take over the project for those who wanted to buy them already finished. -

I hadn’t notice how good of shape that thing was in! Looks like a museum piece -

Cargo lights are an uncommon option and worth plenty to the right buyer. And yes, relatively speaking, our truck are rare with some models much rarer than others -
As I said, everyone has an opinion lol. However, what is it worth to you? Maybe you like gm engines and maroon interiors with a long bed. The reality is, none of us can really tell you what it’s worth to you, only what we would pay for it. I personally had considered many MJs about 7-8 years ago. Once I narrowed down what I wanted (Chrysler era mpfi 4.0, 4wd, bucket seats, short bed, and sliding rear glass) I just waited until I found one, and it took quite a long time. If you like that truck and want to buy it and feel it’s worth the investment then go for it! If you have a tech question about something (like the reliability of the 2.8 or if the interior may or may not be original) than that’s another story and to me those are great questions. Just my $.02

Some may pay 8k, some may not and there is no real metric other than opinions. It looks clean, has bucket seats, factory sport bar, and is 4x4, all of which are desirable. The long bed and 2.8 are the less desirable features from a market point of view. But to some this will be just what they’re looking for. The question is: what’s it worth to you? p.s. Not sure why this is in the mod section

I put my temp sensor in the upper heater hose and it also work well there since that’s on a tstat bypass -

I too used the ball joint press method. Took maybe 3-5 mins per bushing -
Intake/Exhaust Manifold Gasket
ghetdjc320 replied to AZJeff's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Just remember with the remflex gasket, you can only use it once. It is fairly soft so be careful when installing it. The graphite creates an awesome seal though -

sure thing, I’ll get it going tonight. -
M10 1.5 for the crossmember to frame bolts. Not sure about the mount since I have an aw4

I recommend against adding all that extra unsprung weight if your only running 35’s. I have a super d35 with truss and run 33’s With plenty of room for 35’s with 5.5” front coils and soa rear. It’s a nice streetable combo with good off-road capabilities. Ground clearance wise, a stock axle on 33’s has the same if not more clearance than 35’s on an 8.8. 35’s on a 14 bolt will be about comparable to the ground clearance of 31’s on a stock axle. Plus as was mentioned, 35’s will require more trimming on an otherwise clean truck.

Tail gate rubber bumper/stopper
ghetdjc320 replied to Tankedy Tank Tank's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yeah, the list is great but is mostly how to fix or modify components. This would be the source files for people to create their own mud flaps, rubber tailgate pieces, switch trim covers, tailgate handles etc. -

@Pete M what do you think about gathering up all these DIY files into one place. I have several vector traced files and templates, we also have the tailgate handle files here somewhere. Would be a nice resource for those looking to restore. -
Here is mine for reference. I have vibrations due to not enough spline engagement. Switching to sye and cv shaft but mine is lifted with soa on 4x4 packs

Clean '92 MJ in CA
ghetdjc320 replied to Gjeep's topic in Craigslist/Marketplace/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
Also missing the “high output” badge for the 91+. Seems a bit odd. -
It’s about the same as any other body work or repair. Just try to keep clean cuts and welds. Once you cutoff the rocker, you weld on a back plate by the pinch seam. Then another plate that goes at the rear and ties into the frame. You add your rocker and fill plates and weld it all up onto the new pinch seam reinforcement and frame gusset. Took me a full day to install plus a few hours of shaping and sealing the seams

Thanks! That is 2020 Aston Martin Cinnabar Orange. I get lost in the color in the sunlight or under overhead lights at night
