  1. I built my own crossover steering with heims and it worked great with no dead spots. There are so many factors to steering and getting it right. There are also lost of different systems available. What’s your lift and tires size?
  2. I do though it is a bit rough. Is there a thread about these somewhere? Or do you know what material is used to replace the little “flappers”?
  3. Thanks for the input! I’ll throw that in the sketch book for the next build
  4. Hello all, just wondering if anyone has installed this system and/or has any feedback: http://www.boostwerksengineering.com/BWE-Comp-Mount_p_14.html
  5. Hello all, Looking for the cab vent inserts for my MJ. Let me know what you have. Thanks!

  7. I had the originals vector traced and posted the file here on the forum somewhere. This guy could use those as a template since it would be precise
  8. Tough to compete with all the NOS parts hoarders so I have to grab anything I can lol
  9. That would be me lol. The same day I found another NOS twilight for the passenger side listed on eBay under the old AMC part number. I now have a new set of MJ tail lights on Guam! My MJ is in the body shop getting absolutely every panel straightened and perfected. I’m doing a tricoat paint job and when it’s done I’ll install the tail lights
  10. X2 I used their replacements and they work great: https://teamcherokee.com/front-door-check-cherokee-comanche-1984-2001/
  11. I’m just hoping the hdpe I ordered is thin enough to match factory. I have a feeling the end product may be slightly thicker than factory.
  12. Yep, that’s what I’m trying to accomplish, the layered factory version. Did you use vinyl for the decal? Any chance you could snap a picture of the final installed product? It would be awesome to see it with the backlighting too if you could. Thanks!
  13. Yep, there is a bit of light blue semi-transparent paint brushed on with a small brush behind the symbol/icon. The on/off lettering would glow also if it had a light behind it. I’ll try to recreate the glow to be identical. I’m trying to recreate as close to a factory look as possible.
  14. Mine will be a bit different than his. I’m not trying to make a sticker that goes onto the switch housing. I am trying to reproduce the original factory version which will be backlit as well. I don’t believe the factory used a “clear coat” over the decal. Instead it was a reverse printed semi transparent plastic. The black portion may have even been a thin vinyl since, if you scratch it, it comes off fairly easily from the back. It was just enough to block out the light from the small bulb behind each symbol. My goal is to reproduce that same effect, down to the texture and the backlighting. The factory also used a small bit of brushed-on translucent paint for the logo probably to lower transparency or change the color of the glow.
  15. Thanks! Next I’ll work on creating the vinyl to apply to the translucent hdpe to create the end product. If that turns out as the original then you can consider the trim cover back in production. As long as the logo is similar in size we should be able to do almost any variation and have it be backlit
  16. Here is the JPG final draft for this version. Please let me know your thoughts and what other versions you want. Technically speaking I suppose I could do custom versions of these covers also. I will get the vector file shortly
  17. I had mine reupholstered about 2 years ago and they were able to track down the identical twill fabric. Take it to an upholstery shop and have them match it
  18. Once I’m happy with the final proof I’ll post the file for anyone to cut their own vinyl just like I did with the “Comanche” emblems I worked on. I am making this open source to make this accessible for everyone. I will post a brief write up on how this works when the plastic arrives.
  19. Notice the base semi-translucent plastic material in this picture
  20. Ok all, here is an update. Upon further investigation, the actual switch label is made of thin semi translucent plastic that has been textured on one side. The back side is smooth and that is the side that is painted. The symbols are simple not painted and the light reflects through it. The simplest way I can see to do this is to get a die cut black vinyl with the corresponding on/off and the symbol for the device. I will then transfer that vinyl decal until the smooth back of .03” thick textured hdpe sheeting which is durable and flexible. I have ordered the hdpe material and will work on vector tracing the oem switch cover to create the vinyl cut. The vinyl will also prevent the light transmission from anywhere but backlit symbol.
  21. I live in Guam so no lottery here lol
  22. Well, I guess I won the lottery twice today. Found both tail light NOS. The passenger side I found on eBay and it had the old AMC part number only. Both are the black trim versions Mopar 56001353 and 56001352. Just need the tailgate wedge rubber now
  23. NOS, I’ve seen them pop up before several times in the last few months. I know several members have some here but not sure if any would part with them. Was able to get a NOS drivers side
  24. Hello all, I know this is a tall order but I’m looking for a new passenger tail light. I have a new in box drivers side but need a passenger side. Also looking for the rubber wedges that go at the tail gate
