When my comanche was running and i filled it up with gas, the next day there was gas on the ground and come to find out it was just the o-ring on the sending unit. Just a suggestion instead of buying a new tank. Seems like you already bought the tank though..

There should be a vin decoder on one of the pages here. It should be able to tell you what package you had. I believe 4.56 would be a big jump for 33's. I might go with 4.10s.. 8.8 rear axles are better than the D35.

I would and will, but I think my wife would like the luxury of moving the side mirrors.

Sorry to bring up an old thread.... I found some 97+ sport doors with manual windows and locks, but with power mirrors. My 87 didn't come with power mirrors. Anyone have a wiring diagram that shows how to wire power mirrors from scratch? Thanks!

What color red did you use for the firewall? I think my 87 chief is Colorado red. Where did you get the paint from also?

I have one of those on the MJ and it has been there since my Grandpa bought from the dealer in 1987. I took it off because i'm going with aftermarket... Up for sale, but shipping to CA will be a bit.

Do you know if a 4 cylinder 5 speed one will fit? If so I have one.

Well, it's time to update this thing.. Over the past 3 years, I've sold the comanche to a friend, then bought it back. Bought a 4.0L AW4 231 drive train and in the middle of a engine swap (keeping it renix for now) and 97+ front end. Hopefully I can get some pictures tonight. It's good to be working on the Jeep again.

I've heard a lot of people complain about mud and stuff getting 'dyed' onto the herculiner (don't know about the stuff you're using). They suggest cleaning it A LOT. I personally don't like whole trucks painted with bed liner, but to each their own..
