I had the same problem with my 87 chief, I got adjustable lower control arms and it helped out a lot. Better than buying new shim (you get new LCA's).

Yes, I know the ECU is different. I'm going to replace to the 2.5 ECU with a 4.0, I'm just not sure which one I could use, the auto or do I have to get a 5speed ECU?

I am in the middle of swapping my 4.0 into my 87 2.5 and need some help with the transmission wiring.. I acquire a 88 4.0 aw4 combo donor, got the engine wiring harness, computers (transmission too), pretty much stripped it down. I am wanting to go with an ax15 or nv3550, but I'm not sure I can use the current computer I have since it had a aw4 in it.. I don't want to replace the interior wiring, but I do have some loose wiring from the aw4 in my engine bay at the moment, can I get rid of those if I'm going 5 speed? I guess my question is do I need to get a 4.0 5 speed computer? Thanks

How much was the nv3550 if you don't mind me asking? Also what year and make did it come from? What trade did you use and did you run into any problems with the input shaft being flush? Thanks!

I think the benefit to 97+ doors are the no vent windows (bigger room). and the seal on the door. I could be wrong though, but that's just my opinion.

Are you wanting another 4.0L or something else? I think up to 96 fit just the sensors are different, not sure which ones though.

Was wondering if these mounts look correct. I figured the passenger mount mounts in the same spot. The driver mount looks to come forward just a bit... anyone else know if their second track bar mount goes into the motor mount? I just want to make sure these look correct. (Shiny black is from 88 4.0 and the other bigger mount is 4.0 also.) Old 2.5 4.0 Above is old 2.5. This is the bottom of the driver 4.0. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
