Repair or Replace Dash Help
jdog replied to Comanchakazie's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Welcome, start a build thread and add it to the registry. I cannot comment on the repair of the dash, replacement isn't bad harder part will be finding that color, not impossible. Any xj from 86-96 will work for the dash replacement, don't forget to pull your Vin plate and put onto the replacement dash -

I would suspect that u joint, you can have someone spin it and recreate the noise while listening for it with a piece of hose or a stethoscope to verify where the noise is at. -

Which u joint are you checking? The one at the front diff or the one behind the hub? -

u-joint in the front axle or a bad wheel hub, some more info about the vehicle would be super helpful -

How to Wire Oil Pressure Gauge ?
jdog replied to AMC86Kid's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The one in the pan is either a oil temp or level sensor, the one in the block is probably a knock sensor, id just go get a aftermarket gauge set, run a mechanical oil and temp gauge, a bit more accurate than the electric dash ones -
Does it flash if your not on the brakes, do the brake lights and running lights work? Stupid question what bulbs are in it

dana 35 and a 5 speed manual
-
Yep, just up and out of the way of water
-
Looks like a dealer installed ac you'll be able to clean it up
-
And the first picture is the e brake cable
-
The line super stretched is the brake line, the "vacuum line" is a vent hose from the diff
-
Don't clamp the line, that can cause damage to the internal part of the line. You have to bleed the system anyways its not gonna be much different
