Looks like this issue has been covered before. This guy was fairly helpful.

89 comanche Engine wiring Harness
Torq_Shep replied to glennhillyer's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Unless you buy a used one you won't. Had the same problem with mine. Pulled it out and repaired it. Not that hard just time consuming of you are good with a soldering iron. -
One other bad thing about hood spacers is it becomes a projectile in a front end wreck as the cowl isnt there to protect you. If you do spacers you should consider high grade bolts at the very least.

I am definitely interested in some of those pieces!

CRF136N's 89 Eliminator (used to be Torq's)
Torq_Shep replied to Torq_Shep's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Drove it to work today so I could dump drywall at the dump station on my way home. Well... Alternator locked up leaving work so I turned it around and limped it back to its parking spot. Probably wasn't the best idea as it took out the new harmonic balancer at the same time. Guess I am working on it after I get off so I can go home =P 20200514_174058.mp4 -
I am a test cell engineer so I am still at work. Everything is pretty slow though.

Fixed the engine electricals and changed the front brake hoses (rear one is seized but it will be replaced) Drove it around a bit, put gas in it, going to maybe take it to work tomorrow and see if I can get the inspection done. Or Maybe Wednesday but I am close to having a driver at the very least. -
So far it looks like you got them!
-
I think you may be missing one?
-
Tried desperately to bleed the brakes only to find out that my brake hoses have definitely collapsed. Ordered replacements. Truck won't get registered this week most likely =P Should have just replaced them in the first place but between the cooling system, wiring, fuel tank, tires, etc I forgot about them until yesterday.

Fuse Block instead of Fusible Links
Torq_Shep replied to Torq_Shep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Alright, yanked the other half of the harness last week and found my short fairly quickly. Rats had chewed 4 wires near the headlight connector those wires were touching eachother. One of the fusible links was bad but I replaced them all (except alternator one). Now engine side electrically I am mostly set. Still have very little working electronics in the cab. Going to look into that at some point but mostly concerned with the brakes and cooling system before putting it back on the road. -
Fiberglass and wood do not rust =P

Comanche's are awesome. And some of us still daily them (I dailyed one from 2012-2015) but I would imagine many of us have another vehicle acting as their daily. What is it? I love minivans... 2007 Odyssey EX-L

I daily a 2007 Odyssey and I am questioning why anyone would modify a sedan to perform the functions of a van. Just buy a van...

I have a GE. It sucks but it is old... Tries to murder me everytime I open it as the door spring is worn out. It does still work though.

Unless it is a stuck nut on the stupid Renix ECU I agree with you =P

Very happy with my Kobalt (lowes) ones. Again be nice to them but they are solid for the price.
